“Listen to me carefully: the fact that you are offended, as you say, “at bullshit,” is NORMAL! It is NORMAL that you are angry and irritated! In general, you have every right to hate everyone if you want! YOU ARE THE MOST NORMAL PERSON!” If you often find yourself wondering whether everything is okay with you, then this post is for you. First, answer yourself: who is a normal person for you? Is there a person in your environment who always reacts and thinks normally? What character traits does he have? And who the hell determined your normal boundaries? After the courtesy, I ask you to proceed to a stuffy theory from clinical psychology. There are 3 levels of personality organization: neurotic, borderline, psychotic. These concepts are important for a specialist to understand how stable a person’s nervous system is and how he interacts with society, that is, functions as an individual: builds relationships, realizes himself professionally, follows social norms, adapts to a team, etc. So, if you constantly worry about being “normal,” don’t want to offend people, don’t have a tendency to use illegal substances or be promiscuous, have a relatively stable self-image, and if you are responsible and don’t ignore other people’s feelings, congratulations , your level of personality organization is neurotic. You are NORMAL. If you have a tendency to drink and use excessively, have difficulty building close relationships, are compulsive in your actions, your self-esteem is periodically shaken from “I’m shit” to “I’m the best”, maybe you are a lover of abusive relationships - you are the owner of a borderline personality organization. In moments of severe/chronic stress, your nervous system is unstable, you are born with it. Taking care of your nervous system and interest in your internal processes will reduce the level of anxiety, which will consequently lead to a stable and comfortable life. You are a NORMAL person with mental stability characteristics. You are least fortunate if your level of personality organization is psychotic - under the pressure of difficult life circumstances, delusional thoughts, super ideas and hallucinations are added to the above symptoms. And is this normal too? These manifestations are not normal, but this does not mean that you are an abnormal person. You are a NORMAL person who needs the support of a specialist and loved ones. It is not your fault that your neurotransmitter system does not work correctly due to congenital characteristics. I have no goal to remove responsibility from criminals, murderers, etc. But there is a goal to convey one idea: the boundary of the mental relative norm is established by a specialist. And this is not in order to dub you normal or abnormal, but in order to build interaction/treatment tactics. For everyday life, assessing normality has no practical meaning. Learn not to judge yourself and others. These are just emotions that signal something. These are just thoughts that appear in your head due to some events. Your subjective norm is set by your personal sense of comfort. The desire to cry, be sad, angry, worry about the future indicates the most common diagnosis - YOU ARE HUMAN. It's OK to be human.
