From the author: This material was published on the author’s website “Demyanova Science” How to prepare a child for school? Not only parents of first-graders are concerned about the mood and motivation of their future students for the new school year. Many children find it difficult to leave the state of summer rest. They go to school with great reluctance and find it very difficult to get involved in the educational process. How to make school an attractive place where they would like to run, strive and study there!? This is the task of many parents not only before starting school, but also during its continuation! All advice, of course, is strictly individual and depends on many reasons, character traits, health and social environment. But try to do the most basic thing: two weeks before school, restore your routine. Gradually accustom your child to a daily work routine. But don’t focus on school so that internal resistance doesn’t arise! When you wake up your son early, come up with various exciting things to do for the coming day in advance. For example: today he will go with dad to the park, tomorrow to the store for shopping... - be sure to focus on the interests of the child. Over the course of one or two weeks, he will already have developed a physiological habit of waking up early. And where there is a useful habit, there is less stress for the body. It is also necessary to go to bed early, especially since it is much easier to do this now - the day has become shorter and cooler. Start conversations about upcoming training not with demands that he should improve this year in your opinion and how to study well, and not with memories of difficulties - he has already learned your wishes about the success of his studies, but talk about his strengths, his maybe very fleeting successes. Remember that constant demands and complaints do not give the child the necessary psychological mood, but only depress him even more. Focus on new achievements, offer your child a goal: “Let’s sign up for that interesting section this year. Or we’ll organize an exciting hike with the class! How about we write a scientific paper? Or...” Here your imagination and necessarily support, plus the child’s interest will do a great job. Try it! If he has great school friends, talk about the upcoming meeting with them. At such an age as your son, a positive atmosphere of communication among peers is very important. The child may be somewhat anxious about meeting classmates. Take his mind off of it. Discuss with him exciting summer trips or events that happened over three months. This summer piggy bank will be a great guide. Your child will want to share his adventures, and you will whet his interest, and he will look forward to school life. Remember, the future student must choose school supplies himself. Things he likes will accompany him in his learning and add positive emotions. Organize your student's desk at home according to his taste, make it an attractive place where he would like to be again and again. Of course, it should be just work, not entertainment. Put things in order there, buy new accessories where your child will put his school supplies. If you don’t have the means, then experiment with the existing furnishings on your desktop: rearrange, move, repaint... Or better yet, entrust this to a child. It is especially important: for the personal growth of any of us, regardless of conscious age, there must be a personal territory. If this is not your own room, then at least your own table, your own bedside table, your own corner. Where we store personal belongings and no one has the right to check, restore order, or command there. And for a schoolchild, this is, first of all, a briefcase, a personal closet and a place where he has the opportunity to be alone, to retire from the hustle and bustle, to plunge into his feelings and gain strength to communicate with the world. A child should always feel that knowledge and learning are not great difficulties and burdens, but an exciting journey into the world of the unknown. Curiosity,!
