How I conduct work in the cognitive-behavioral approach (CBT) How do I conduct the appointment? Yes, in the CBT approach there is a clear session structure that allows you to logically move towards goals. First session - evaluation, before which I send you small clinical tests and a Questionnaire. In this way, we save time, I already know what clarifying questions to ask you. At the first session: we get to know each other, you talk about your problem, I explain how CBT works. In psychotherapy, we focus on working with thinking, but also with emotions, and we also work with behavior. Using specific examples, you will see how thoughts affect your emotions, bodily sensations and, accordingly, behavior. You will notice your thinking errors and will be able to change your attitudes and reactions. Notice what “comes” from childhood. At the first session, we will write down the goals of your psychotherapy together and, as necessary, we will refine and clarify them. But in subsequent sessions, we will specifically begin to work on the problem. The structure of each session is such that first you determine your emotional state, then I ask you about your homework. We analyze the results together. Homework will be different: observing your own automatic thoughts, filling out the SERM Diary, working with cognitive distortions, behavioral experiments, neuromuscular relaxation, mindfulness techniques and more. Then we will work on a specific goal of psychotherapy, and it will be your choice. Any of your goals will be considered from the point of view of how to do it at a behavioral level and you will begin to practice new skills from the first sessions. And believe me, you will have a fascinating world of self-knowledge and positive changes. I will ask you certain “magic” questions and your picture of the world will expand and change. I am not giving advice; CBT uses the “guided discovery” method. It will help you clearly understand the cause-and-effect relationships, see the resource in yourself and extract your wisdom. The goal of CBT is to equip a person with such knowledge so that he can provide psychological help to himself, lead the client to realistic, positive thinking. My clients say that their worldview and life change significantly for the better. Sign up and I will help you cope with life's difficulties, anxiety disorders and depression.
