Do you know the state when you want to cry, you feel a lump in your throat, but you can’t cry? A very unpleasant feeling. Sometimes it goes away if we get involved in some daily activities, but sometimes it only gets worse. I would like to offer you a possible course of action for such situations. Choose a place where you can be alone, and where no one will be with you for a while will disturb. It’s good that you really have some time and a safe space, because... the exercise sometimes raises quite intense feelings. Sit down. Take a position that makes you comfortable. Take a few deep breaths in and out. Feel your body. Now try to imagine that you are crying. Close your eyes and furrow your brow as you would when crying. If you want, you can cover your face with your palms. Let the sadness in. Take your time. Now it’s really important not to rush anywhere. Next is the most important thing. Ask yourself: If I cried, then what? Give yourself time. Perhaps the answer will come right away, but perhaps not. Sometimes several different options can run through your head before you feel the “hit”. Your body will tell you when the answer is correct. After that, continue to imagine yourself crying for a while. Maybe you will actually start to cry, maybe you won't. This is not important and is not the purpose of the practice. Think for a while about the experience that has come to you. What is it about? Does it invite you to experience some kind of loss? Does it indicate some important need that has not been met recently? Or are you just tired and your body is trying to communicate this? Either way, most likely we are talking about something important. When you are ready, you can stop. Take a few deep breaths again and exhale, and open your eyes. It will be great if you write a short note on your phone or notepad (literally a couple of phrases) about the thoughts that came to you during the practice. How do you feel now? Have the sensations in your body changed? Did you manage to understand something about yourself??
