When people seek help from a psychologist, they often hope that the specialist will offer them a solution to their problems and help them feel better. Many people expect a psychologist to provide some kind of "magic pill" or specific instructions on what to do. However, in reality, psychological help usually does not amount to simply providing a prescription or a "magic pill." Instead, the psychologist helps the client explore his thoughts, emotions and behavior in order to find ways to solve the problem. In the process of therapy, it is quite common to encounter unpleasant painful sensations. Of course, we strive to get rid of unbearable emotions and experiences as quickly as possible, believing that they interfere with our happiness and well-being. But, ignoring and suppressing our pain actually increases the negative impact on our emotional and physical health, causing us to lose touch with our emotions and feelings, which can ultimately lead to a distorted perception of reality. Emotional blocking can deprive us of the opportunity to fully live life, making us hostage to our rational thinking. And here it is important to understand that the effectiveness of healing does not lie in instant relief from pain, but in awareness, recognition and living of it. When we face and process pain, we open the door to awareness of our emotional states and give ourselves the opportunity to fully express and release negative emotions. This allows us to understand the causes of our pain, realize how this pain affects our lives and how we can overcome it. We create conditions for finding solutions, reduce internal tension and this helps restore emotional balance. One of the important steps in the healing process is the awareness that mental changes require time and patience. Like bearing and giving birth to a child, mental processes cannot be accelerated. Working with the psyche requires the ability to recognize, accept and withstand uncertainty, instead of constantly striving for actions and final goals. Changing the psyche does not consist in replacing one phenomenon with another, but in the ability to be in this process, accept it and move forward through it. When pain is acknowledged and lived through, we can find relief, deep understanding and acceptance of ourselves and our lives. On the path of healing, it is important to be able to share our pain and be heard. In therapy, you will have the opportunity to express your thoughts and feelings, find unconditional support and understanding, and live through your pain in a comfortable rhythm. Together we can explore your emotions, make sense of difficult situations, and find resources and new ways to respond to life's challenges. Feel free to contact me for help.
