Hello friends! I am a psychologist, but in my practice I use the coaching method for clients who are holistically healthy and by nature rely more on the thinking apparatus than on the sensual one. Such people sometimes find it difficult to get out of a difficult situation because they lack the data to process information. In principle, coaching exists for this purpose, to remove the “blurred” view of the situation and complete the missing puzzles of the picture. Coaching itself comes from the cognitive-behavioral direction of psychology, which helps it structure the personality and reveal a resource for further actions. In other words, the result should be a change in behavior from ineffective to effective. A tool for structuring is a coach. Comparing a coach with a coachman always makes me smile) The coach does not push anyone. He offers a structure and coaching model that helps you independently understand the situation through a system of questions. He doesn't take the whip. He holds a conductor's baton in his hands and head. The coach’s task is to offer his knowledge of the structures, and the client himself makes the conclusions. Whatever one may say, the coaching process is also psychological help. Coaching itself is built on diagrams or models that consist of ordered questions. The answers to them help: rank your goals, navigate reality, determine opportunities/resources, identify internal obstacles, identify external obstacles, focus on motivation, determine criteria for evaluating your actions and results, etc. But is it possible to use coaching as self-help? Yes! I have been affirming and practicing for many years. Although I often use special coaching cards that help me stimulate my thinking processes, today I want to tell you about a coaching model that has proven itself well as a self-help tool. It can be applied to all difficulties that arise on your life path. This model was developed by R. Dilts and T. Epstein, it’s called Score. Let’s try to figure it out. John Whitmore argues that coaching is a tool for unlocking a person's potential. Coaching helps, not teaches. Therefore, let's reveal the self-help part of ourselves with the help of this model. First, you need to write your request to yourself on a separate sheet of paper. What will you directly work with using the model? For example, I have a job, but it doesn’t bring me pleasure, it partially satisfies my financial needs, but I’m so burned out that I won’t be able to work at all for a long time. I can't afford not to work. How can I change the situation? When the main question is posed, you can move on to analyzing personal material according to the model. In other words, let's turn on the process of reflection in a complex life issue. 1.Symptoms. This point is always connected with real events. Here you need to describe everything that worries you about the request today. Describe in more detail what is going wrong. More specifics. What is difficult to cope with or perhaps there are easy moments or those that elude you. 2.Causes. The reasons are always connected with the past. Try to remember what preceded the difficulties that accompany you in the present. Analyze why it went wrong, what got in the way. Perhaps it was not possible to come to an agreement or defend your opinion, perhaps you did not have the courage to ask for input data again or were afraid of condemnation, etc. 3.Outcomes. The results we want to get in the end. Ask yourself what the outcome will be if everything changes. Formulate what you want in the end. Perhaps at this stage you will be able to see several options for the development of the future. Don’t be shy and don’t force yourself into the “it won’t work” framework. In total, this stage is the moment of formation of the initial goal. 4. Effects. Yes, don’t be surprised, we skipped over the letter R, that’s what the authors of the model intended.
