A favorite topic of many people in our society... Phrases about hysteria are usually directed at the female sex, although among men there are no less hysterics... Of course, you can talk for a long time on the topic of hysteria, but I will highlight the main, in my opinion, characteristics: - Hysterical tries to raise his self-esteem at the expense of others, may seek confirmation in society of his uniqueness, unusualness, and “goodness.” Such people are eternally hungry for feedback. He needs to constantly receive information that he is good, beautiful, strong, unique, that everyone loves him. By the way, this is typical especially now for instabloggers. - I can rely on my feelings. If I can't get people interested, they will abandon me and I will become helpless. Such thoughts are most often found among hysterics. - Accordingly, in order to bind others to oneself, demonstrative behavior is most often used. In extreme cases, these may be demonstrative suicidal attempts. - The key emotion, despite external cheerfulness, may be a hidden feeling of anxiety, which reflects the fear of being rejected... “Feeling of irritation” for them may be the basis for punishing another person. Feeling sad is enough reason to cry for a long time. And the absence of tears can be a reason for anxiety, since the most important tool for expressing sadness has disappeared, etc. You can talk about the emotions of hysterics for hours, and even months and years, which in fact sometimes happens at appointments with a psychotherapist)) I often confuse hysterics with a narcissist. The main difference between narcissists and hysterics is that the latter cannot live without people. The desires of hysterics must be served; if this does not happen, then they can become very angry, irritated, this can make them feel bad, they always demand something from others. And their self-esteem depends on the continuous expression of their high appreciation from others. The narcissist is self-sufficient and loves himself - he doesn’t need anyone else, not even a psychotherapist ((So if you see signs of narcissism in yourself, then most likely these are signs of hysteria!!! But there’s nothing wrong with that, these signs are quite natural for humans.
