Looking for a method with which you can increase your own productivity, solve old problems, set new goals? Take a closer look at the GROW model, created by John Whitmore, a leading business coach in Britain, author of the acclaimed book about “High Performance Coaching.” The latter became a bestseller and continues to be republished in dozens of advanced countries. What concept did Whitmore propose? The GROW model helps you rethink your current life situation, find the opportunities you have, and quickly decide on goals and priorities that will lead you to your dreams. All you need to do is answer questions from four blocks: Goal, Reality, Options, Will. Let's get down to business! How to correctly set goals according to the GROW model? Stage 1. Think about what you want to achieve, where you are going. You need to describe the goal as specifically as possible, imagine the path to it, the immediate moment of achievement, your feelings, sensations, life changes. Answer the questions thoughtfully, in detail, so that later there will be no disappointments in the style of “is that all?”, “there is victory, but no joy”, “I spent so much effort, but I was wrong with my dream.” List of questions for the block of goals:• What do I want from life? How will I know that I have achieved my goal?• What will happen to me when I realize my dream? How will the environment react?• What will I get when I realize my dream? What do I already have?• What will happen if I don’t achieve my dream? Stage 2. Answer honestly where you are now. The task of this stage is to describe your assets, events that are happening, resources that can be directed to the implementation of ideas. Think about what you are doing for your dreams right now? Write dry facts, without giving any assessments, without falling into criticism and negativity, without getting upset about your laziness or mistakes, and without trying to look for excuses. Give up generalizations like “always” or “never”, ask clarifying questions and look at the root of the problem. Questions on the reality block: • What is happening to my life now, where am I going? What takes away the main strength and energy?• How does my ideal life differ from the real one? Where am I now on a scale of 10, where would I like to be?• What am I doing to live better, to move towards my goals, to solve the problems that concern me?• What resources do I have to solve my problems?• How do I the current situation affects my future - am I moving away or closer to my dream? Stage 3. Reassess your capabilities, what you can change. Who told you that you don’t have the resources to change? It's time to look for alternative ways of developing events, and the brainstorming technique will help you with this. Just don’t set limits and prohibitions, don’t slow down or criticize yourself, write down all the answers and ideas that come to mind. Questions about the block of opportunities that you need to ask yourself: • What can I do right now to move the situation forward? what options and alternatives do I have?• Where can I find the missing information, do I have friends who could help me realize my dream?• If a close friend were in my place, what advice would I give him?• What would What would I do if I had the resources and time I needed? Stage 4. Decide on actions for the near future, make a final decision. At this stage you need not just decide on plans, but begin to act, take responsibility for the implementation of your goals. Don’t say: “I need”, “I have to”, “you must”. Down with violence! You do not force yourself to do anything, but make a conscious decision. Just say: “I intend to create my own business”, “I want to write and publish this book”, “it is important for me to have a beautiful body, it will make me happy.” Such a statement will release hidden energy and fill you with enthusiasm. List of questions for the block of intentions: • What do I intend to do to realize my dream, what will be my first step? • When will I start.
