Chronic stress is invisible, especially to you! Often a person lives his everyday life and experiences stress, but does not pay attention, gradually getting used to it and falling into the trap of believing that the stress has gone away, but in fact it has simply become a part of everyday life, to which he has adapted. You live, and with you there is stress in a chronic form. Many even say that stress is normal, part of their life. Wear shoes one size smaller and walk around for a week. Are you used to it? And now two sizes smaller. Fine? And go back to the previous size again. Not bad already? And in order not to notice the inconvenience, many take boots a size larger. Well, it will probably be great. Figuratively of course, but living with stress is a very similar feeling. It’s always somehow uncomfortable. Signs of chronic stress that are not usually noticed. Those that were actively observed in working with clients, and were denied by them as an indicator of stress. However, with in-depth study, the state of chronic stress was confirmed. 1. Drinking 3 or more cups of coffee per day, every day. This can already be seen as an attempt to stimulate resource depletion. If there is a habit, an addiction, then there is no and will not be an effect on the state of stress, but the result will be additional exhaustion. 2. Long periods of falling asleep, late going to bed, restless sleep, difficult awakening even after 8 hours of sleep. Irritation from thoughts, sounds, light prevents you from relaxing during sleep.3. Skin irritation. Stress can cause unexplained allergic reactions, rashes, itching (especially in the evening and at night). This occurs against the background of disruption of the hormonal function of the adrenal cortex during chronic stress.4. Constant indigestion. At first unconfirmed by the diagnosis, but subsequently leading to its establishment. Disorders of appetite from aversion to food to attacks of severe hunger, cravings for junk food. There may be difficulty swallowing or a feeling of a lump in the throat. Various uncharacteristic and unclear symptoms of the gastrointestinal tract replacing each other throughout the day.5. Increased behavioral activity, often maladaptive. Spontaneous, ill-considered, impulsive, fussy actions are a sign of chronic stress at the level of behavioral changes. This is an attempt to stimulate the nervous system through actions. Such an attempt to get out of stress further leads to a point of defeat and a state of apathy, despondency, melancholy (unfounded by any obvious situations). 6. Drink alcohol at the end of the day or week to unwind. In chronic stress, there is a need to stimulate relaxation through additional effects on the body. It is this mistake that only reinforces stress, since alcohol is the first thing that needs to be eliminated when relieving stress.7. Constant headache. There is no diagnosis, no previous health problems, no objective reasons, medications and other methods of combating headaches do not help. However, headaches become a companion to tension, and therefore chronic stress. The pain can be background, not noticeable and constant. Stages of stress anxiety > resistance > exhaustion What signs of stress are typical for you? Have you noticed atypical signs of stress in others? Afterword: When I go to a store and am drawn to buy something harmful, also in large quantities, then for me it already signaled that I missed it and did not recognize how I got into a stressful state. Reflexes from the past unconsciously direct you to what first helped in a situation of stress. Take care of yourself and be healthy. Consultation with the author by appointment.
