The moment we live here and now is unique in itself. After all, it will never happen again. We can be aware of this and appreciate every moment, or immerse ourselves in our thoughts, wander in their thickets and miss that very moment. Now I’m lying on the couch, concentrating on my breathing and sensations in my body, thereby establishing a connection with my body and my inner self. At such moments, my breathing slows down and becomes more even and calm. Nothing worries me, I feel calm and good. If I connect the thoughts of what is bothering me and connect to their signal, I will heal from the body. My condition will change. From a peaceful, calm state it will turn into an agitated and anxious one. My attention will switch from sensations in the body to external stimuli, the brain will work in full force and will involve me in its game. To return to a calmer and more pleasant state, I just need to watch my breathing, feel the support under my feet, standing or sitting, or my back and the entire surface of my body, lying down. It's easy to slow down and ground yourself, but unfortunately not everyone does it. We often feel like we don't have time for this. It’s much more important to run around on some errands, to rush to do something, while thinking that I don’t have time to do anything. It may seem to us that in this way we are in a hurry to live and have time to do as much as possible. In fact, by acting this way, we miss the most valuable thing - living in the present moment. We run past our children, close ourselves off from them into work and our important, adult affairs. We do not hear or feel our partners, friends and people around us. We do not see what surrounds us and do not notice the beauty around us. We do not hear the sounds that accompany us on the path of life. We do not feel the smells that float in the air and whisper to us about something important. We run past the magical gift of life without allowing ourselves to experience it from within. All this splendor of life passes us by if we lose touch with ourselves and the present moment. What moments in life are valuable to you??
