In general, how often do you sing? No, not at a friendly table, relaxing under the influence of alcohol, not at karaoke and not singing along to your favorite performer! Do you often sing - solely for the soul? Several times I witnessed an amazing cultural phenomenon: during our communication with Master Ji, he suddenly took a break and then began to sing. The first impression was very strange. I didn’t understand: either this was some kind of lesson in a Chinese folk song, or the master wanted to show off another of his talents. And he sings really amazingly! The velvety baritone causes a scattering of goosebumps from the feet to the top of the head. When the chamber music was completed, apparently, a long text consisting of questions with exclamation marks was written on my face. At the same time, I was unable to express my feelings verbally, and was only digesting what had happened. The master did not wait for me to come to my senses, and began another amazing lesson. It turns out that the Chinese, initiated into Taoist knowledge, chant quite often. “Europeans differ from the Chinese in that the former improve their vocal skills in order to please the public and perform songs on stage, while the latter improve in the same field only for themselves,” my mentor noted. Not only an ordinary, but even a talented musician will never gather huge halls and stadiums of listeners. But those rare singers who have such a natural ability are included in the world history of vocal music. It is quite possible that in the West there are vocal teachers who teach to awaken and improve this talent, they simply do not describe it in the terminology of the philosophy of Ancient China. And Tao masters cultivate this skill as one of the varieties of qigong, that is, working with energy. The sacred act of combining voice and information is impossible to describe, because it consists of many interdependent factors. But the main secret of this “witchcraft” is the combination of the performer’s strongest emotions during the broadcast of information related to the content of the song.
