Why don't we have what we want?⠀ In my opinion, because we are too vague about what we want. Sometimes we don’t even know whether we want it or not, rather we dream or fantasize about how it could be.⠀ From practice, I often observe that a person, when asked: “Why? What will possessing this, or achieving this, give you?” is very lost and does not know , but really, why?⠀ A very important internal drive towards what you want is the importance of this achievement for yourself. Not for relatives, work colleagues, or to make friends jealous. Namely for myself.⠀ When the understanding comes of what this is for me, the value of what we want appears, and the dream turns into a goal, it is already specifically spelled out. And when there is a goal, you can already move towards it.⠀ Or if you realize that this goal does not bring anything useful to a person, or for some reason is not real, you can simply abandon it. Look for what is closer, more valuable or more real.⠀ But questions may also arise here. It is often not possible to get from point A to point B quickly, since there is a lack of the necessary resource: knowledge, skills, finance, etc. It takes a long time for a student to become a professor.⠀ Therefore, to move towards a goal more easily, you need to break it down into intermediate small goals. This makes it easier to assess your expectations and capabilities, and gives you more confidence in your actions. And having reached a small result, a person becomes closer to the final result and plans his next step.⠀ How to correctly formulate a goal? The goal should be:🔹specific - the result that needs to be achieved is precisely formulated🔹measurable - there are certain criteria for achieving success in money, kilograms, meters, parrots🔹achievable - not fantastic, far-fetched, but really achievable🔹relevant and environmentally friendly - important specifically for you , and not imposed from outside, and not in conflict with your lifestyle and existing achievements 🔹 time-limited - there are deadlines and a schedule for its implementation ⠀ Goals do not pretend to be global. Some people want to become an astronaut, and others want to learn English. Any goal becomes achievable if it is in the focus of our attention. And the above technique focuses our attention on what we really want to achieve.
