From the author: Preference for one color or another is not accidental; there is always some specific meaning in choosing a color. “Color is the area where our mind comes into contact with the Universe.” Paul Klee What is your favorite color? Blue? White? Maybe black? We intuitively choose certain colors and shades. Our tastes change over time, depending on our mood... But the preference for one color or another is not accidental; there is always some specific meaning in choosing a color. If I like the color red, maybe it means something? Back in the 19th century, I. V. Goethe made an attempt to find a scientific basis for the effect of color on humans, writing a treatise “The Doctrine of Color”. In those distant times, he noticed that yellow and red colors “excite” and “revive”, and blue and purple can cause “sadness” and “worry.” In the 20th century, a huge number of different works were published, like “tell me your favorite color and I will tell you who you are.” In fact, color analysis is not so easy to carry out. After all, each color has several different meanings: personal, cultural and archetypal. What is personal meaning? This is our personal perception of color. Like - don't like, beautiful - ugly, etc. We can “associate” color with some events in our life. Like “this yellow dress brings me good luck in exams!” But each color not only contains a personal meaning, but is also associated with the culture in which we grew up. For example, in China, red is a symbol of happiness, vital energy. And in India, red is a symbol of purity. That's why the bride's dress in India is red. Or black. In many countries, it is customary to wear it on days of mourning. But, for example, among the Turks, black can have different meanings. On the one hand - “bad”, “nasty”, and on the other - “strong”, “great”. There is also a deep meaning of color, which psychologists call “archetypal” meaning. This is something that does not change in time and space... A meaning that is common to all people... For example, the archetypal meaning of yellow is deep, primordial joy. Green is life, love to all. Therefore, you should not rush to interpret this or that color, or look for a universal explanation. It is better to listen to your feelings and choose the color that you like now. I will tell you more about each color in the following articles. “Everyone chooses their own color in life. Some are sunny yellow, some are cloudy gray, and some are depressingly black. Each of us is responsible for our own choice, and each of us lives in our own color-light.” Elchin Safarli.
