HOW DID I COME TO THERAPY?! Once upon a time, I knew practically nothing about therapy, I was in my 4th year as a psychologist and had a sufficient level of theoretical training. But while doing scientific work, I realized that this did not give me any development in practical psychology. Then I went to study additionally in group psychotherapy and they said something that I needed individual therapy. I thought for a long time and decided whether I needed this, whether I was ready. Then I thought for a long time and decided where I could get this help. I found an option, a good one and even free. I called a colleague, a practicing psychologist, but she really didn’t approve of this idea, so I didn’t go for free therapy. I still trust her as a tough professional, but then her arguments were not entirely clear to me. So this question was postponed indefinitely. And then at one of the trainings, I saw her. No, I didn’t see, but more I heard and felt. Then I thought, it seemed to me, and I thought about it for a couple of months. Then there was a conference and we met there again, for 2 days I decided to approach. But some words spoken to her at a general event touched me to the very heart. She spoke about what her profession gives her, how she feels about it, and it was very sincere and touching. This resonated in my thoughts and feelings. With such an attitude towards the profession, I wanted to take a risk and trust. I went over to make an appointment. We agreed to wait for some time (now I would have to wait for this recording for several years, so I’m lucky and you understand what level of specialist it is). And I understand how important it is for me to respond inside. Several months passed from the moment of the idea, the thought until the meeting itself. But then I no longer entertained the illusion that it would be quick. Therefore, I know for sure that not only therapy is a serious path, but also getting to therapy is an equally serious path. I know, I understand, I accept 🤗 #psychologist #psychologistonline #natalie_about_therapy #psychotherapy #relationship psychology #psychology #psychological #psychotherapy #psychoterapist
