The topic of this article is schizoids, schizoid personality dynamics, schizoid character. Very little has been said about schizoids on the Internet, but they are already starting to talk about it. Information is being opened up rather than stigmatizing the topic. She was under some kind of curtain for a long time, because the schizoid personality type is very versatile. Among schizoids there are many people who are ashamed of their character, constantly asking themselves: “Am I really normal?”, all the time comparing themselves, for example, with narcissists, and lamenting that there may be something not quite right with them. So , let's talk about characterological features. What is a schizoid? Does this have any connection with schizophrenia? “Schiza” at the beginning of the word in both cases means splitting. If schizophrenia is a splitting of the mind, then a schizoid is one of the parts of the split, one of the splits. A schizoid is a person whose main drives, values, and needs lie in the safety zone. He looks for places, people and situations that will be as safe as possible. A minimum of danger is the main drive of a schizoid. However, this does not mean that he will not want to make a parachute jump. No, in life they can be quite risky, but in relationships with people... they won’t let you get close to their soul. What if you cause pain? Often these are people who are characterized by some extremes: I want to be in a relationship - I don’t want to be in a relationship, I’m with you - I’m on my own. By the way, this is often the biggest conflict among schizoids. This is a choice of distance in a relationship. These are people who know more about loneliness than others, because in the end they choose isolation. Their main method of defense is care and isolation. This is what in psychoanalysis is called primary defenses, low-order defenses. But then the schizoid does not have to use high-order defenses, such as denial, displacement, etc., which are often used, for example, by narcissists. Schizoids see the picture as it is. They don't like her, they just leave. They do not have to defend themselves from the current situation, from the existing relationships. They just leave. This is the way to protect yourself. More often, schizoids choose, of course, isolation rather than relationships. But sometimes they choose relationships, and can even build very long-term relationships. Schizoids become very attached, at first it takes a long time to build security, and it takes a long time to get into relationships. But if they have already entered into them, trusted the person, then a strong attachment is formed, and they will no longer leave their partner. Although they build, rather, object relationships. Those in which they perceive the other as an object - you do this for me, I will do that for you. There is no strong personal, such deep contact. No, it is possible, but as point fragmentary objects. Then the schizoid withdraws into himself again. He seems to be in a relationship, but he doesn’t involve himself wholeheartedly in it, he just is. It is important for him that his partner is simply nearby. He didn’t put pressure on him or control him, but he didn’t abandon him either. They want emotional involvement, and at the same time, a lack of control. Schizoids are very sensitive to control. On the one hand, it seems that they are controlling the other person (but this is not control, although it looks like it from their side). Schizoids are very sensitive to different shades of emotions and experiences; they have such a built-in radar for the fact that they want to be abandoned, abandoned, or that they are no longer interesting to someone. Very strong sensitivity at these distances. That is, if a partner is thinking of moving away from him, the schizoid already knows this. And if we talk about control, then the schizoid has it at this point. It is important for him to understand whether you are with him or you are not with him. If you're not with him, he won't keep you. He will leave faster than you. About the fact that schizoids worry about their own normality or abnormality. In fact, there are more schizoids than is commonly believed. And they don't get talked about enough online because they feel like they're in the minority. They talk about schizoids somehow very quietly and as if about sexual minorities. They are not very understood
