Sources of Creativity or Creative Barriers I believe that creativity is inherent in everyone. Creativity is a great life force. I offer my thoughts on the topic of what sometimes prevents you from expressing your uniqueness, your creativity. This is a series of articles, each of which is devoted to one of the barriers to creativity offering a small practice that can be easily integrated into your lifestyle. and my item on the list “Barriers to Creativity” is 1 Limitations and 2 Insufficient number of difficulties. I have already shared my thoughts on item 1 “Limitations”, so I continue 2) Not enough difficulties At the moment when in life or at work you have If you have too few difficulties, it is much more difficult to be creative. Challenge is a healthy part of human life. Ambitious tasks are more interesting than what is already known; they awaken passion and fire in the eyes! So, if you complain of boredom, think about whether you are faced with too simple tasks. Difficulties are possible inconveniences and risks, and often this is what causes fear. But besides this, difficulties allow us to find new solutions, allow us to create new options for action - and this is about creativity. There is the concept of frustration - in Gestalt therapy it is a barrier to habitual behavior, behavior that does not allow one’s needs to be satisfied. And it is precisely the frustration of habitual behavior that helps one find creative solutions, a new path to achieve what they want. At that moment when everything is clear and familiar, at that moment when everything is familiar and does not require effort, we use old proven methods and do not look for new solutions. And difficulty allows you to look for something “extra”, outside of habit, unknown :) So it turns out that limitations and an insufficient number of difficulties, like two twin brothers, walk hand in hand on the path to creativity, closing the cherished path. micro PRACTICE: Volunteer for an unpopular job and try yourself in a new capacity, experiment. Push yourself to try something new. And also...the most courageous thing is to allow yourself to do what you have long wanted to do, but some voice in your head said “it won’t work out for you.” Do it! Even if it's difficult.
