From the author: No one is immune from the fact that they stop liking their work and lose motivation for it. And now, on top of everything else, it’s summer. I would like to catch the rare sunny days this year. It’s good if the work brings a lot of joy and inspires, but what if it stops delighting and inspiring? This can happen at the very beginning of your career, or it can happen unexpectedly, then it would seem that here it is - the cherished dream job is almost in your hands. However, whenever you are caught in the moment of losing the desire to work, you can survive it, and this article is just about that. No one is immune from the fact that you stop liking your job and lose motivation for it. And now, on top of everything else, it’s summer. I would like to catch the rare sunny days this year. It’s good if work brings a lot of joy and inspires, but what if it stops delighting and inspiring? This can happen at the very beginning of your career, or it can happen unexpectedly and then, it would seem, here it is - your cherished dream job is almost in your hands. However, whenever you are caught in the moment of losing the desire to work, you can survive it, and this article is just about that. A simpler option for solving this is when work has become hard labor due to the fact that you simply have not yet found yourself. Then the solution is relatively simple - changing your unloved job to your favorite one. Unfortunately, in life you rarely have to rely on simple options, and it’s the same with work. More often, a more complicated option occurs - when work torments a person because he has unresolved conflicts. This is a lack of understanding of one’s true needs, when a person does not live his own life, submissively believing that someone (usually parents) knows better how to do it and does what they recommended. A person is sometimes happy to listen to his own desires, but does not know what they are. I already wrote about this in my article about an exercise for training to recognize one’s true desires. Such a person resembles a dried up river - the once deep and stormy stream of clean water has now become shallow, and only a sad, lonely stream flows along the bottom. But there is always a chance to regain your life energy again, and for this you just need to reunite with your own resources, and these resources are in active work based on your desires. In the meantime, you will work through your internal conflicts (and they can be worked out quickly only with psychologist), I’ll give you some simple recommendations on how to make your hard labor not so hard work. If you don’t like the job so much, then gradually look for another one. Agree with yourself that the inconvenience is temporary, and it will be easier for you to put up with your temporary job. Nowadays, adherents of a healthy lifestyle write a lot about the benefits of consuming clean water. Please note - not tea, not juice, not other drinks, but regular drinking water without additives. And if you do it on an empty stomach, and if you also drink cool water, the effect will be most invigorating, and the health benefits are simply colossal. No one will forbid you to surround yourself with details that have a bright emotional coloring for you. And it doesn’t matter whether it’s a photo of your husband, child, beloved cat, or some souvenir given to you by a dear person or brought by you personally from a successful trip. Physical activity - do exercises at work that are invisible to others, but effective (google Internet, and you will find many articles with workplace exercises for every taste). Place a miniature mirror right in front of you, and just glance at it from time to time and smile at your reflection. It has been experimentally proven that when the muscles involved in raising the corners of the lips (which is a smile) are activated, the brain automatically begins to produce joy hormones. So even a grimace of a smile improves your mood, what can we say about smiling from the heart. If you are tired of people, then you can make yourself physical barriers that fence off your workplace. For example, place a palm flower next to you.
