From the author: How do you perceive time? The topic of time began to arouse interest decades ago; since Antiquity it has been studied by various scientists. Time is the regulator of all human activities. No activity takes place without the perception of time; it unfolds in time and has certain characteristics of duration. Time exists objectively, minutes are replaced by minutes, years by years. It is also a form of all mechanical, organic and mental processes, a condition for the possibility of movement, change and development; every process, be it spatial movement, qualitative change, emergence or death, occurs in time. The perception of time is a unique type of perception, which is a reflection duration (duration) of the event. It is possible to distinguish between two types of perception: direct perception of time as simple temporal sensitivity and complex perception of time, which is mediated by higher mental functions. I conducted a study that revealed orientation to the time perspective and understanding (attitude) to time in people of adolescence. The uniqueness of the process the perception of time in adolescence and adulthood was studied using the following methods: “F. Zimbardo’s Temporal Orientation Questionnaire”, “Time Experience Scale”, measurement of individual minutes. When carrying out the first method, it was found that in adolescence people are oriented towards the future, the hedonistic present and a positive past. Factor PP. Reflects a warm, sentimental attitude towards the past. This factor is characterized by a nostalgic, positive reconstruction of the past; it is presented in a rosy light. Factor B. Assumes that behavior is largely determined by aspirations for future goals and rewards. Characterized by planning and achieving future goals. GN factor. It assumes an orientation towards pleasure, excitement, arousal, enjoyment in the present and a lack of concern for future consequences or sacrifices in favor of future rewards. The second technique is “Measuring the Individual Minute”. The average individual minute for the sample is 57.4 seconds. A slight underestimation of time, possibly due to reduced adaptation to changes in the external environment. The third technique of the “Time Experience Scale” reveals the attitude towards time, expressed in the categories that describe it. We can say that the perception of time is the most complex process of human interaction with the environment. It reflects the general state of the body, characterizes a person’s adaptability to changing conditions of the external and internal environment and plays a significant role in achieving effective results in most types of activities.
