In the last article we figured out what ADHD is and how it manifests itself. Today I propose to understand how cognitive behavioral psychotherapy can help with ADHD. ADHD is most often diagnosed in childhood. Therefore, the main part of working with ADHD is children and adolescents. But there is also a protocol for adults called Mastering Your Adult ADHD. For children and adolescents, I use protocols from the Instant Help Books series from New Harbinger Publications. They are very interesting and understandable, each in their own segment. The puzzles are made in the form of workbooks. These are the basic protocols, but I add other materials as needed. Unfortunately, none of these protocols are in Russian. I translated them for my clients and we have the opportunity to use advanced technologies to help people with ADHD. Let's look at what's in the protocol using an adult as an example. There are 14 chapters in total:✅Information about ADHD✅Overview of the ADHD treatment program✅Information for family members✅Organization and planning skills✅Organizing multiple tasks✅Problem solving and managing overwhelming tasks✅Organizational systems✅ Measuring your attention span and delaying distraction✅Changing your environment✅Introducing the cognitive model of ADHD✅Adaptive thinking✅Rehearsing and repeating adaptive thinking skills✅Applying skills to procrastination✅Preventing relapse And look, isn't each of these chapters important to each of us? I went through this protocol myself. Even though I don't have ADHD. And you know, I won’t say that everything is easy or simple. But definitely effective. It is thanks to this protocol that I can work as much as I want! The calendar is my best friend and helper. There are no things that I didn’t have time to do or forgot... But there is a clear schedule in which I, my family, and my work harmoniously merged. Harmonious! This is the “clear” protocol.
