Perhaps this article may not seem entirely appropriate on a site dedicated to the work of a psychologist, but is it often so rare in the practice of a psychologist for people who have been working on self-confidence for years, but do not dare to speak publicly or holding your own master class, a series of lectures. And it’s not a matter of the client’s reluctance or the psychologist’s poor work - it’s just a different request from the person. Not just “how to gain self-confidence,” but how exactly to prepare a specific speech or activity. Sooner or later, specialists have a question about how to conduct a training session, master class or webinar. If you do not have special pedagogical education, then preparing even a small training event is quite difficult: there are too many things to take into account in order for everything to turn out the way you want. But this should not stop you - after all, mastery comes with experience, and you are only at the very beginning. Unfortunately, in this situation, people usually turn to information business manuals, which either tell how to sell services, or recommend setting up shamanic dance classes with a tambourine or solo performance. But information business and theatrical art have a completely different relationship with real teaching - an exciting and multifaceted business. So, first, determine the format of the event. The question is not even in the name, but in its form. Will it be a lecture or seminar, workshop or master class - what exactly will it look like? Will you only talk or also communicate with the audience? Will it be a theoretical or practical lesson? Will there be participants interact with each other? Please note, this is not about the best or worst option - they are all good in their own way, but only about what exactly will be required of you and the participants. Secondly, set a goal for yourself. As a result of the lesson, the participants should gain something - some new knowledge or skills. What will the participants leave with? In what situations will the new information be useful to them? As a teacher, trainer, you can build on the value of this event for yourself. It will be great if, in addition to financial compensation, you celebrate something truly meaningful to you. Why is this lesson important to you? What is valuable to you about teaching? What qualities will help you do everything in the best possible way? Q- Third, determine the time and volume of material. Based on your goals, it is always easier to determine what to cover in class and what not. Something can be presented in a lecture, something can be left for independent study, something can be worked on during class. When preparing, look at how many completed blocks you get and divide the lesson time by their number. this way you will know approximately how much you can talk on a particular topic - this will help you navigate the volume of specific material. And lastly, add a little improvisation, humor and lightness. These qualities alone will not get you far, but in combination with others they will help you find and demonstrate your uniqueness, your personal qualities - and feel more confident. By the way, so that things go faster and the result is even more significant, the preparation of a lesson can be made a request for one or more coaching sessions. By discussing your idea with a coach, you can find something in your idea that will make the activity not only valuable, but also invaluable to others.
