Choice. Responsibility. Action. Movement. Will. An effort. The list of associations goes on. A decision is, first of all, a choice that involves taking responsibility for its consequences. What to do when you don’t know what to do, in the sense of acting or not acting? How to make the right decision? And here you can remember about “Cartesian coordinates” and draw a graph with the activity scale on the horizontal axis and the final result on the vertical axis. The left side of the graph suggests inactivity, while the right side, on the contrary, suggests activity in relation to the chosen goal. The lower part of the graph reflects losses, the upper part shows gains as the final result. Thus, 4 fields are formed as shown in Figure 1: 1) my gains from inactivity (what I will get if I don’t do this); 2) my gains in case of activity; 3) my losses from activity. 4) my losses due to inactivity. And now, if you put losses and gains from activity on one hand, and from inaction on the other, then which of them is heavier according to your inner feeling and what decision do you want to make now? What to do if all sorts of possible solutions are swarming in your head like bees in a hive? And here you can act in different ways, for example, rank the solution options, and how to do this is in the next part of the article. To be continued...
