An article for those for whom a trip to a bookstore gives a thrill that is incomparable even to a profiterole. And who secretly dreamed (maybe even from childhood) of holding HIS book-child in their hands. And for experts (psychologists, coaches) - the book will help advance in our competitive market, will be a powerful key that opens the way to a different scale and popularity. And Now back to the topic: how did I write my first book? Easy. And this is the honest truth. If it flashed through your head, “Well, I can’t do it easily,” don’t be upset. Perhaps these four theses will help make your path easier: Don’t write a book. Write short stories. Then you collect them - and behold, there will be YOUR BOOK. Find an enthusiastic reader. Are there people around you who are sensitive, empathic and sympathetic? Ask them to PRAISE YOU. Read what you write and praise it. Leave constructive criticism for later (for betarders, etc., but more on that later). Don’t write for someone else, write for yourself. Writing is the best therapy. What demons are tormenting you? Let them frolic through paper and pen (monitor and keyboard). If you write non-fiction (non-fiction, but “expert” literature), move through storytelling - write stories, so you are more likely to get involved yourself, and this is where the next point comes in. Allow yourself the thrill of writing. Put aside “I should / must write tasty, colorful, smart, like a specialist...”, write sincerely, openly, FOR PLEASURE. Which of the points caused inner warmth in you and “Is this possible?”? And what, perhaps, resistance and skepticism? It would be good to catch this, and then put it into action. Maybe you read, nod, close your eyes, mentally looking at the picture where you give autographs to your readers... and then go off to live as you lived, forgetting about this dream. But it would be better ( yeah, that very classic from CBT “it would be better”), start acting immediately. I’ll help) So, if you are a psychologist/coach, you probably have cases. Right? Which one came to mind now. I suggest you spend 15 minutes on this (just that!) and describe it briefly. This is step 1. Step 2. Get permission from the client to share the case. If for some reason this is impossible, you can rewrite the case “based on” - renaming the characters and slightly redrawing the story. This will no longer be a case, but storytelling (in other words, storytelling). Then repeat steps 1 and 2 the required number of times and.... voila! Essentially, this is your book!!! What is your inner critic saying? “This is all nonsense!”, “Who needs it?! They won’t read something like that,” “If you write a book, then you need to set a topic, prepare the material thoroughly, and It’s not a good idea to scribble letters,” “This is a wagonload of time for a business that won’t pay for itself.” It seems? It would be good to examine each of these statements separately. But now let’s try this, through the questions: “Do I want to have my own book?” “How will I feel when I write it/publish it/read a review of it/see it on a bookshelf or in literature?/hear a review about it” “What do I REALLY need to start writing it?” “What do I need to finish it?” “Will I let my doubts prevail and give up everything without starting?” Well, at least the energy has gone to work a little bit? Ps, here are the difficulties I myself faced when writing a book, but still overcame it, because of which I didn’t sleep at night and wanted to stick my head in the sand like that ostrich... or better yet, under the blanket - I’ll tell you in the next one series - don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss out!
