Parents often complain about the lack of help from their children around the house. This often becomes a huge problem for the family: daily conflicts, punishments, resentments. Sometimes parents get short-term results, but most often - no changes in the child's behavior. The best thing is to encourage children to participate in household chores from childhood. Usually small children are eager to help their mother. But, unfortunately, parents often dismiss such help themselves. They believe that the child is still small and is only in the way. But as the child grows up, parents begin to face refusal when the child is asked for help. After all, the child is already accustomed to the fact that all housework is done without his participation. Let's look at this problem using an example: a teenage girl does not want to help at all around the house. It is impossible to force her to clean up her room. What to do? But first of all, parents need to show firmness, calmness and confidence, and take three steps: 1. The girl can be asked to choose the homework that she is ready to do regularly. Let her choose what she likes best: take out the trash, wash the dishes, go shopping, clean, or help cook. 2. Give her responsibility for the assignment. This means that the girl herself will plan and be responsible for the regular completion of her chosen homework. The task of parents is not to constantly remind: “Do you remember what you have to clean up? You promised." Discuss with your child in advance that if she forgets to do what she promised, what methods of reminder will be more comfortable for her: a note on the refrigerator or something else that the child comes up with himself. 3. Be sure to praise the child for what he has done, even if the work has been done with delay. After all, we all like to do what we are praised for.
