Good afternoon. Let's talk today about what factors influence the development of a neurotic disorder. There is such a thing as the BioPsychoSocial model of neurosis - it is a comprehensive approach to understanding and explaining the emergence and development of a neurotic disorder. In this The model identifies three main factors: First - Biological factors: include a genetic predisposition to a neurotic disorder, chemical imbalance in the body, disorders of the nervous system and other physiological factors. Second - Psychological factors: include a person’s relationship system, a person’s childhood, suffered psychological trauma, stress, adverse life events, insufficient mechanisms of adaptation to life situations, etc. And the third is Social factors: include cultural and social characteristics, social support (or lack thereof), human living conditions, environment, etc. where a person is located, marital status, education, work, etc. According to this model, neurotic disorder arises from the interaction of these three factors! Biological predispositions can make a person more susceptible to stress and mental disorders Psychological factors such as trauma and stress can play a role in the development of neurotic disorder. Social factors, such as an unfavorable living environment or low social support, may also contribute to the development of neurotic disorder. It is important to note that the biopsychosocial model does not explain neurotic disorder solely as a result of one of these factors, but emphasizes their interaction and the importance of taking into account all three aspects when understanding and treating neurosis!! The same person may also have a biological factor, such as an imbalance of thyroid hormones, which results, for example, in hyperthyroidism, which also affects the person’s emotional background. Or the environment in which a person is located, for example, a drinking husband or parents. These are all very important factors to consider!
