Sometimes it begins to seem to me that the world is in agony, he lacks air and ventilators as a seriously ill patient. It’s strange, but before the coronavirus epidemic, people also died, thousands of lives were unexpectedly and unfairly ended. The difference is probably that the danger has come so close that you can feel its breath as soon as you cross the threshold of your home. Mortal danger creates an internal conflict that triggers an unconscious process of struggle between the drive to life and the drive to death. Awakening previously hidden feelings and desires. Fear can either paralyze the will or activate all human resources when internal renewal occurs - catharsis. I remember a practical story told by Coach Alexander Ronald at a training seminar. A man who was in one of the buildings of the Twin Towers in New York at the time of the disaster turned to him for help. He said that he suddenly saw that he was on a piece of the outer wall at a great height and heard a scream. Directly below him, barely holding on to the edge of the reinforcement, a woman was hanging over the abyss and screaming in horror. This moment, the client said, was the most clear and meaningful of his entire life. He saw literally every detail separately and absolutely the whole picture around him. There was no fear, he knew exactly what he needed to do. He bent down and helped the woman to safety. This story is one example of our ability to isolate external anxiety and switch to our internal resources in order to maximize our energy in a moment of danger, and not lose contact with ourselves, other people and the world around us. An example of the opportunity to realize the value of every moment of your own and someone else’s life, to share your love with other people, because you don’t know what might happen to you in the next minute. Every day brings us sad news. Much that seemed necessary is now prohibited. But I know for sure that at the most difficult moment our perception will remove everything unnecessary, as if we were looking at life through dusty glass. It will clear, and we will suddenly see how beautiful the world is.
