When it comes to making a choice, we all inevitably begin to worry. No, simple options don’t bother us much - borscht or solyanka for lunch, or what dress to wear today - here we can quickly decide without much pain. But if we are talking about something more serious and global, this is where those same torments of choice rise to their full height, allowing us to fully “enjoy” them. Well-known practices are of little help. Or rather, they only help when you need to choose between good and bad, relatively speaking. For example, write down the pros and cons of each option and compare. Here everything immediately becomes clear and clearly shown. Or here’s another good method. But if you need to choose between two completely acceptable options, each of which will have its own bold advantages? How can you choose and not regret it later? I think not at all. Every choice has consequences. And they are different. In one case, you will have to use some of your specific qualities to solve emerging problems, in another - others, and maybe develop completely new ones that you did not have before. Even if we calculate everything in advance, something will still arise that we could not foresee. Therefore, we will have to regret it in any case. To paraphrase the great poet, we can say: “It is not possible for us to predict how our choice will respond to us.” But do not despair! This is actually good news! Because the realization that there will still be consequences that you will regret greatly eases the torment of choice. Whatever road you take, there will be something to decide and something to do! And there is no point in choosing one path and looking with regret at the other one that you rejected. And if it seems that the problems there are easier, and the consequences are not so terrible, believe me, it only seems! But still, there is one guideline that will help you make the right choice. Oddly enough, this is fear. Yes, yes, which direction is the most scary to look at, that’s where you have to go. And if fear increases as we move forward, then this is exactly what we need. What frightens us most is the unknown, but it is precisely in it that new opportunities lurk that we did not even suspect, but which will definitely lead us to such horizons that we and didn’t dare to dream. Yes, it will be difficult, because you will have to “master virgin soil,” study, and develop other skills. But all this will forever remain in your life baggage, as an invaluable experience, as a necessary tool that can always be used in some other situations. Usually, people try to choose the least scary option. And here the slogan just begs to be added to the line that the future belongs to the fearless and I would like to end this note on a positive and life-affirming note. But no, like most slogans, this one also has nothing to do with real life. The future belongs not to the fearless, but to those who is afraid, but does it. A bid for success is trembling knees and a voice breaking from fear. It is these people that fortune pays attention to and begins to help, because she has seen enough of self-confident loudmouths who lose all their steam in the whistle. And then something unusual appears, she becomes interested - who is squeaking and climbing here? Therefore, go where it is scary, of all the alternatives, choose the most frightening one. The most interesting thing is that the bonuses that you will receive at the end of this path will completely discourage the feeling of regret about the choice you made.
