From the author: Who is frustration and how does it end with depression from the point of view of hypnotherapy. I have already written about basic emotions such as fear, anger, sadness, etc. It is important to remember about them because frustration occurs when those needs to which basic emotions motivate us are not met. For example, fear tells us that we must restore safety. If we don't respond to this with our actions, frustration can arise. We can also distract ourselves from activities aimed at restoring safety, for example by smoking. In this case, the feeling of frustration will begin to increase, because this very feeling has as its purpose to tell us: “What you are doing is not working. You won't achieve anything with this." Of course, if you are in danger and instead of, for example, running away, you smoke, then you will not achieve safety. If you somehow try to cope with the primary emotion, but you do not succeed, frustration will also arise. For example, if you are looking for a job but cannot find one, frustration will arise, where the primary emotion will most likely be fear that you will soon starve. Frustration is a feeling that easily increases its intensity for any of the above reasons. Frustration can also increase due to an increase in the intensity of the main feeling, which in turn increases frustration. It's a snowball. Frustration will also be stronger the more ineffective (according to the unconscious) efforts we make to satisfy the primary emotion. For example, if you are looking for a job and cannot find it, frustration will begin to intensify, saying that what you are doing is not for you will help satisfy the fear of being hungry. Increasing the intensity of any emotion is like a cry from the subconscious; it already raises its voice. You need to change the tactics and strategy of how you are trying to find a new job. When this snowball becomes as intense as possible, the “fuse” is triggered, and depression occurs. Depression is an extremely useful mechanism for preserving the psyche and body. She tells us: “That’s it. You're tired. Now you're going to explode. Now go to bed and rest. You need rest now more than trying to cope with the primary emotion.” There may be more than one primary emotion that causes frustration, and over time they can unite into a “conglomerate.” Once Depression occurs, the intensity of the primary emotion and frustration begins to subside . Frustration may even disappear completely. But primary emotions cannot completely disappear, because... what they encourage is still our need. For example, find a job. Underneath this may be a fear of going hungry. Perhaps you should stop looking for work and start your own business? Maybe sell something? Invent! The decision about which primary emotion to evoke is made by the unconscious, not us. It also sets criteria, upon satisfaction of which, this emotion will be canceled. For example, fear is present, but what we should satisfy is not clear to us. Then the reason can be found out in hypnosis. From experience, most often, any of your current problems began before the age of 5, when your unconscious made certain decisions, judgments that now affect your entire emotional life. Such decisions are made under the conditions of the so-called “trance logic”, and are often not rational, because not based on reality. Of course, how do we, for example, at 1 year old know what reality is? We are small, but everything around us is big. Then we are extremely worried about how to survive, and any situation can seem life-threatening. For example, a child was swaddled tightly, he was scared, and a certain pattern of thinking arose in him. And while the child was growing up, he encountered other, similar situations. As a result, at some point, all this formed in the subconscious into such an emotional structure that operates on the principle of emotional resonance and then the intensity of emotions does not give him».
