A CHILD WENT TO FIRST GRADE, HOW TO HELP WITH ADAPTATION? Crisis 7 years old have you heard of this? In simple words, the child begins to recognize himself as part of a team. It is at this age that control of emotions becomes more and more voluntary and conscious. Grown-up children begin to understand the norms of behavior, their needs, their position in society. If these processes have not started in a first-grader up to this point, we can assume possible difficulties with adaptation to new educational conditions. HOW IT MANIFESTS: the child disrupts lessons, sits under his desk, cries every day on the way to school and school, does not experience the joy of working with new educational supplies. At home he becomes more irritable and immerses himself in computer games. He does not learn school rules. Refuses to complete tasks. Doesn't go to the school toilet. Cannot go to the teacher and clearly communicate his problem. WHAT TO DO IF THIS HAPPENS1. Setting up a daily routine. The child has just graduated from kindergarten and has not had time to adjust to the “schoolchild” mode, a clear schedule with time for rest and sleep will reduce the load on the child’s nervous system, do not neglect daytime sleep. 2. Complete homework before 19:00, after this time the child is already tired , the nervous system needs rest and relief. 3. Organize a vacation for your child without gadgets!!! Book, coloring book, plasticine, toys, walk. Even a TV or radio in the background loads the child’s brain.4.Make sure you eat well. Active skeletal growth and brain activity require proteins and fats in the diet. 5. Set a rule at home not to discuss the teacher, not to use demonstrative pronouns towards the teacher. She, her, that one - only by name and patronymic. This will further increase the child’s level of motivation; if the teacher is respected at home, at school it will be easier for the child to perceive information from the teacher. 6. Under no circumstances do your child’s homework!!! No one canceled the disservice! Your support and presence nearby will give the student confidence. Stock up on valerian and simply accept this period of life as a passing stage. 7. The period of adaptation to first grade lasts from 3 months to a year. It will be easier in the second grade 😉 if you help your child in the first grade! If general recommendations in your situation are not enough, you can always contact your school psychologist for more detailed work👍
