Many people want to change themselves. Become more active, more successful, more self-confident. Increase self-esteem. And, as a rule, almost everyone who turns to me with such requests says that he is too lazy. From a young age, we were all taught: “Laziness is bad!”, “You must work on yourself,” “Overpower yourself, have the will” and so on. Is laziness really that bad and is it worth fighting against? Laziness can be called completely different manifestations. Laziness is when you don’t want to work? Laziness is when you come home and don’t raise your hands to vacuum? Or is laziness when a young man does not study, does not work, and sits all day in front of computer toys? All this can be called laziness in its own way. For the purposes of this article, I will mean by laziness the lack of desire for useful activities in a mentally healthy person. Laziness, like any of our behavior, is determined by certain motives, which can be both conscious and subconscious. As a rule, a person who feels, in his opinion, “laziness”, in fact: Is tired, tired, which with further activity can lead to deterioration of health, exhaustion, illness; Has no interest in relevant activities (for example, preparing for an exam at students). In this situation, you need to find suitable motivation and encouragement for your loved one. Do not deceive yourself under any circumstances if you promised yourself something for completing a task, otherwise such self-motivation will not work in the future. Fears or worries about something related to completing the task. Is in conflict with a person who is associated with doing something. Is in a state of increased anxiety, anxiety, not directly related to the activity, but affecting the overall level of attention, concentration and performance. If you often feel lazy and would like to get rid of it, it is important do not force yourself, but understand in each specific case why you need laziness, what role it plays in your life. What would change in your life if laziness suddenly disappeared? Don't beat yourself up. Answer your questions about motivation as honestly as possible, do not generalize and analyze each specific case. After all, each “symptom” has its own psychological meaning and is aimed at maintaining health. Thus, manifestations of laziness serve as a kind of “fuse” for your psyche. Once you realize why you are lazy, you will understand whether it is worth doing this or that work, how to motivate yourself, and maybe change your type or mode of activity.
