From the author: Burn at work, but not burning out, but with pleasure improving and self-realization! Let's talk about emotional burnout (EB). What kind of animal is this, the prerequisites for its occurrence, where it comes from, who it “loves” and how to escape from it, or try to get rid of it... When we talk about emotional burnout, we mean the psychological, psychophysiological and behavioral consequences of professional (work) stress. Professional stress has a destructive effect on the human psyche as a whole, violating the integrity of the individual. At the end of the twentieth century, American scientists Maslach and Jackson systematized an approach to the characteristics of emotional burnout syndrome. Three groups of experiences were identified: - emotional exhaustion (emptiness and powerlessness); - depersonalization (dehumanization of relationships with people - callousness, heartlessness, cynicism, rudeness); - reduction of personal achievements (underestimation of one’s own achievements, loss of meaning and desire to invest personal efforts at work place). The most noticeable symptoms of EV are a constant feeling of concern about work, fear of making an irreparable professional mistake, endlessly replaying work situations outside of working hours in one’s thoughts, a feeling of fatigue and emptiness from the inability to calm down, irritation with colleagues and subjects of business communication, attitude towards work , as a grave necessity, devoid of professional satisfaction. Who does EV love? It loves those who work in the communicative-saturated sphere of “person-to-person”, first of all. EV creeps up quite unnoticed, over a long period of time, on those who, by the nature of their work, must constantly interact with other people. EV also really likes it when the quality of people’s communication determines the result of their activity - professional, moral or material. Here is a short list of professions where he loves take a walk EV: teachers, medical workers and doctors, social workers, telephone dispatchers, managers, realtors, psychologists, psychotherapists, sociologists, employees of legislative bodies (officials, military, police, tax, customs, prosecutor's office, courts...).From the above list of professions, we see that everyone who works in these areas participates in intense communicative business communication, burdened with high responsibility for people - students, clients, patients, subordinates. Such activity is accompanied by high emotional and intellectual tension, which for some people becomes a risk factor for EV. Let us, dear readers, remember how (and in what condition!) we go to the clinic, how long we sit there (or stand!) in line to see the doctor. How do we then talk to the doctor? Or how do we look at it after several hours of waiting? (And how does he look at us after a five-hour appointment without a break for lunch?) We also visit the tax office, there we also wait for hours for our appointment, but we do not have the necessary document. (Why weren’t you notified? There’s a list for submitting documents on the office door, why didn’t you read it??? Go do it!). If, God forbid, we are dealing with the police, then they will definitely tell you: “Ignorance of the law does not exempt you from responsibility.” Let's go further: the teacher fights for academic performance and discipline (as it should be...), calls the parents of lagging students, but they (for example!) have no time, calls many times, then goes to their home, and there they don’t open the door for him... Officials , judges, customs officers are rinsed in the media so much that no one seems to care! We know, we read it...Sales managers (especially sales managers!). To the boss: “Well, there is no one today to sell five tons of bushings, it didn’t work out, and yesterday it didn’t work out... Three days ago I agreed by phone to conclude a sales contract, but the Buyer changed his mind, he found a company where these bushings are cheaper... “Boss: “What am I paying you money for?” There is such a thing as the Scientific Organization of Labor (SLO) - this is a process.
