Reasonings of a mother psychologist Having written the article “Caution! Nanny!" I have received many questions and requests regarding how to choose a nanny for a child. I didn’t expect so many questions, so I decided to write recommendations. I note that the recommendations are dictated solely by my experience and will have a flavor of reasoning. The age of the nanny is from 15 to 19 years. They write about themselves like this: “I have experience, I love children.” Every time you want to understand where the experience comes from? The answer is simple - she raised her nephews. This begs another question: if a person’s brain matures by the age of 21, then how, without reaching it, can a person educate someone else? From 20 to 26 years. They declare themselves to be professionals, the main goal is money, and the price is higher than that of the third category (see below). There is a catch with this category of nannies: for the most part, due to age, the priority is personal life, entertainment, and, therefore, they may simply not go to work or go to work “after the holiday.” From 27 to 45 years. This is the age of super professionals, when youth is combined with experience, energy is combined with the desire to earn money. There are pitfalls for this category of nannies: 1) they often have children of preschool age, and, therefore, they will ask for sick leave, and unexpected ones at that; 2) this is the age when money is needed not only for personal needs, but also for children, husbands, etc., which means that if there is a family that offers three kopecks more, they will run away without looking at anything.50 years or more. Nannies and grandmothers. This category of nannies extremely rarely have their own small children (I have never met them), more often grandchildren. They are ready to care for other people's children, compensating for their own needs for communication or unfulfilled motherhood, and maybe even complexes. The pitfalls: they strive to enter the family not in the role of a nanny, but in the role of a grandmother or an older, experienced friend; They give advice even in cases where it is not required. Price (I’ll make a reservation that the price categories are based on Perm): from 50 to 70 rubles per 1 hour. Super economy class nannies. As a rule, they work from their home. Reality: in 99.9% of cases they have their own small children and a very poor financial situation; after thinking about where a mother on maternity leave can earn extra money, she decides to work as a nanny. The question arises: won’t a child brought to such a nanny remain on the sidelines, how clean is the apartment, what will happen behind the closed doors of someone else’s apartment, etc.? From 80 to 100 rubles per hour. Economy class nannies. As a rule, these are women with experience working as nannies in a kindergarten, as well as women without registration and without education. They are “bribed” with a kind attitude, price, apparent amenability and compliance. The question arises: if somewhere they offer 101 rubles per hour, will you have to look for a nanny again? From 100 to 120 rubles per hour. Middle class nannies. They are valuable because they have work experience and an adequate assessment of reality. But, the overwhelming majority have their own children of preschool age and a stormy personal life. The question arises: by paying a low price, will you get what you were looking for? From 150 to 200 rubles per hour. The nannies are slightly above average. As a rule, we worked in families of “thieves” (as they will certainly tell you at the interview), who do not count money. And does this have to do with qualifications, kind attitude towards children, adequacy and, in general, a new family? From 250 to 300 rubles per hour. High class nannies, as they call themselves. Among them there are many who speak competently, know how to present themselves, and sell their services. However, in most cases, these are nannies who hate such tasks as washing the dishes after the child or the potty. They are ready to easily recommend this or that developmental methodology, not the name for this special education. Education. That characteristic that some won’t even look at, but for others it is 100% important. Let's figure it out. Higher pedagogical (or psychological). These are the most arrogant nannies, not ready to help with washing the dishes after the child's lunch. As you may have guessed, in terms of price category this is the last and.
