HOW DO METAPHORICAL ASSOCIATIVE CARDS WORKMetaphorical associative cards allow you to bypass rational thinking, remove defenses and internal resistance, create conditions for dialogue between the external and internal world of a person, help to reconstruct a traumatic event, formulate and express it words, or verbalize, which in itself entails a therapeutic effect.1. BYPASSING RATIONAL THINKING, removing defense and resistance. The main advantage of metaphorical associative cards is ease of use and safety for the client, which reduces his internal resistance. The image is primary in the formation of human consciousness, therefore, appealing to the image is international (cards are international) and works for people of any age and mentality, with any level of intellectual development. The image is deep in the subconscious. The flow of associations inevitably arises, and sometimes uncontrollably. When working with a visual image, the client has no or significantly reduced conscious censorship, this makes it easier to work with his internal subconscious conflicts. The game form of work also removes the client’s internal tension and resistance - it’s just a game!2. CREATING A DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE EXTERNAL AND INNER WORLD. In the subconscious, we remember everything that happened to us, but we do not always realize it. Following the image, associations associated with it in the subconscious emerge, and this stream of associations, launched by the imprint of our life, allows us to view our internal “photo album”. Emotions, feelings, values, beliefs are attached to each image. The map plays the role of a push board into the world of imagination, into which we, “rationals,” rarely enter. From the internal field of this fantastic reality, a person can see the external from a different angle and rethink it, i.e. The transformation circle starts. That is, cards allow you to create a safe, environmentally friendly field for dialogue between the external and internal world of the client.3. EVENT RECONSTRUCTION. Looking through our internal photo album, we reconstruct events. VERBALIZATION of an event is therapy; cards make it possible to safely talk about painful issues. Access to the metaphorical level of understanding events allows you to “place” them in other words, not the same ones. New words allow us to see these events differently. Looking “differently” leads to a different solution. Reconstruction of traumatic events on maps allows one to avoid additional retraumatization, triggers his internal processes of self-healing, creates a safe context for searching and modeling a solution, and triggers the process of searching for his own unique way out of the crisis.
