From the author: The article may be of interest to those who are susceptible to “seasonal melancholy” How to overcome the autumn blues Autumn brings with it not only the bright colors of the foliage, but also a gloomy sky, cold, dirt and slush underfoot. There is less and less warmth and sunshine. We listen with quiet sadness to the rustle of falling leaves, to the sounds of rain knocking on the roofs of houses and window panes, we are less happy and more tired, we don’t want to get out of bed in the morning. This is how the autumn blues sneak up unnoticed. If you do not pay attention to this condition, then there is a risk of the blues developing into real depression. Therefore, if you feel tired that does not go away even after a long sleep; constant weakness, when you always want to sit down, rest, lie down; apathy, indifference to what is happening; If you are increasingly unbalanced and experiencing irritation, then you need to take urgent measures. Methods of color therapy or color treatment can help improve your condition. Of course, you shouldn’t self-medicate; it’s better to trust a specialist, but you can use some elements and techniques yourself. In autumn, the sun rarely pampers us with its bright, warm rays, so two or three bright yellow or orange objects in the interior will help lift our spirits: a sofa cushion, a picture on the wall, an ottoman or the lampshade of a favorite table lamp. The same accents can be placed in clothing: an orange scarf or red shoes, jewelry in bright yellow shades. A good remedy for any blues, apathy and sadness is laughter therapy (gelotology - from the Greek “gelos” - laughter). Masters of laughter therapy claim that laughter from the heart has a positive effect on human physiology. Regular practice of laughter therapy increases vitality and energy, brings emotions of joy and happiness, allows the body to actively produce the so-called hormones of happiness - endorphins, eliminates destructive programs of the subconscious, increases creative activity and self-confidence. Typically, laughter therapy or laughter yoga classes are conducted in large groups under the guidance of a specialist, but some exercises can be used independently. For example, turn on your imagination and start walking around the room, while making comical movements (bending, squatting, bending, rotating, etc.), and start shouting loudly: “Ha ha ha! Ho-ho-ho! Hehehehe! Hee-hee-hee!” Or in the morning, if you get out of bed in a bad mood, go to the mirror, stretch your lips into a smile and count slowly to ten. You put not a real, but a fake smile on your face, but, nevertheless, the process of stimulating all life processes starts, energy and the desire to live appear. The result will not be long in coming! Watching humorous programs, favorite comedies, reading or listening to jokes, funny books has a wonderful effect on well-being and mood. The effectiveness of overcoming states of blues and depression with the help of art therapy methods has been proven, when a person is engaged in creativity - drawing, creating collages, taking photographs, composing stories. Art therapy classes give you access to hidden resources, strength and energy that is blocked during the seasonal blues; it helps you switch to a different emotional state, relax, create something new, and discover your talents. Draw on paper, look at beautiful postcards, create your own collection of pictures that are pleasing to your eye. Autumn brings us a riot of colors and a variety of landscapes, capture them with your camera lens or with paint and canvas. Pets can also be good therapists. Here’s how it’s written about it in Yulia Vikhareva’s poem “A Remedy for the Blues”: Believe me, life will become a little more comfortable when a cat appears in your house: A fluffy bundle of 100% happiness. (Albeit capricious and strange in part!) From illnesses and boredom, blues and sorrows There are the right remedy is a cat’s purring. And also a shaggy, warm belly - a cure for breakdowns, mental burden.!
