From the author: This article will be useful to those creators who experience some difficulties with goal setting, consistency, self-discipline and self-esteem. In recent years, I have become convinced that the ability to create paintings is not the prerogative of a select few. Anyone can draw if they wish, and there are plenty of examples of success in this direction. With the availability of different training options, there still remains a percentage of people who want to draw, but for various reasons do not dare to start or continue drawing after unsuccessful attempts. And in this matter there is several key conditions that will ultimately help you discover sufficient potential in yourself and direct its power in the right direction! And the first condition is support. By the word “support”, I mean professional skill. The list of specialists with the required competence is extensive: there are teachers, psychologists, trainers or coaches. Indeed, often, in order to follow the postulate “allow yourself to create,” you need to figure out what in your particular case is required for this permission, where you learned not to allow it, and how now to learn back, etc. The second condition is the goal. In order to learn how to draw, it is important to clarify your goal, find out what is behind your desire to create, formulate it and adapt it to your life, get inspired by the idea and now, ready-made motivation! And here, too, you cannot do without the help of a person experienced in these matters. The third condition is the presence of feedback. Professional feedback is needed in order to track your progress, see areas of growth, and find your internal resources. This is in no way a criticism or instructions on how and what you should do. And careful and attentive psychological support at every stage of the learning process. The fourth condition is time. It is important to organize your schedule in such a way that you get enough time for practice. Not everyone has the skill of self-discipline. A kind of echo of school times, when you had to do assignments and study mostly out of fear of a bad grade, and now, having become adults, when this “Sword of Damocles” no longer hangs over us, it’s difficult to motivate yourself to find time, even for your favorite activity. Therefore, in addition to personal interest, having a schedule and some obligations significantly reduces the risk of giving up what you started. Fulfilling all of the above conditions will greatly simplify your path to mastering the skill of drawing. They are quite universal and, with a little correction, can be relevant for the realization of other talents. And before you start, your task is to responsibly approach the issue of choosing a specialist who will accompany you in the process of becoming a person who draws. One of the areas of my professional activity is precisely related to the conditions described in the article. I help people bring more creativity into their lives, and perhaps make it their main occupation or apply it to their favorite business. I invite you to explore your creative path with me!
