Do you like being criticized? It doesn’t matter whether it happens at work or at home, we always perceive such statements very negatively. Even if we agree and promise to improve. At its core, criticism is an indication that you are doing something wrong, not the way the other person imagines. That is, your way of acting is condemned. And if I do something bad, then that means I’m bad myself. Criticism is not only an expression of dissatisfaction about some action, it is also an indication of your failure as a specialist, as a parent (criticism of parenting methods), as a husband or wives, this is about those same family relationships. Please note that any criticism begins with a point towards you. You did something wrong. Moreover, most often such critical remarks have an affirmative form. That is, it is almost impossible to challenge the critic’s opinion. After such statements, your mood and condition worsen. You feel your value diminishing not only in the eyes of another person, but also in your own. Talk about criticism being a motivating factor is, to say the least, unfounded. It is impossible to motivate a person to achieve some achievements or actions using condemnation. Try to imagine how you feel when you are criticized, and they do it very emotionally. Most likely, these will be feelings of guilt, shame, fear and uncertainty. Do you think you can achieve anything with such a kit? And one more thing, you no longer feel safe. Now transfer this to your family or relationship, do you think that by criticizing the person next to you, you can get the desired result. Or, if you constantly tell your child that he is doing everything wrong, what will your child experience? What feelings and self-esteem will he develop? Your husband or wife is unlikely to be happy with such treatment, and there is no question of any desire to do it as you want. That is, with the help of criticism you can only force a person to do something. When you have to do things under pressure, the result is always somewhere around a C grade. Do you need this? Criticism is always very painful! Try to remember this, try to put yourself in their place before criticizing your loved ones. Practicing psychologist Anton Chernykh.
