From the author: Learning to better understand your feelings through meditation Feelings are not words One day I discovered that my inner sensations and experiences are much deeper and more voluminous than can be expressed in words. The wordless experience we can feel is like a rain cloud. And the words that we pronounce, write down or think on the inner plane are rain poured from our cloud. Rain and cloud are two different things. Feelings and the words with which we express feelings are not the same thing. Moreover, words often distort what we feel and do not allow us to describe our inner experience with any truth. Let's figure out how to practically apply this insight, how to solve problems with the help of this knowledge? Meditation Since childhood, mastering our native language, we have reduced our ability to navigate our inner world. Everyone has a dumb, wordless level of perception, like animals. Sometimes, when solving problems, it is useful to draw information from this level of the psyche. As we found out, at the silent level the amount of information is significantly greater than at the cognitive (verbal) level. Therefore, the task of meditation is to give up thinking at the cognitive level and look at feelings and experiences, at sensations in the body, at information from the organs feelings. You just need to study your states and experiences, observe them. Peering into yourself and gaining the experience of silently being (or living) in your sensations is a very informative activity. By putting this meditation into practice, I can learn much more about myself. And after (wordless, silent) exploration of my inner field, I will be able to better navigate where I should move next. Where is the solution to the problem? How do I feel about the problem? How do I know about my problem inside? The application of such meditation is widest. Any problem you have can be explored at the level of wordless experience. And when you have accumulated enough experience, you can already formulate the essence of the problem in words. Well, let's meditate today? How about suggesting that you look at your worry or problem? How do you feel them on a silent level? PS Tip: to stop the flow of thoughts and words during meditation, try to concentrate on what your senses give you. On hearing, vision, sensations in the body at the same time.
