On the issue of preventing smoking among young people. Today in Russia, the problem of smoking among young people is very acute. This problem is not so much medical as it is psychosocial and pedagogical. Both in the family and at school, favorable social and pedagogical requirements and conditions necessary for the formation and strengthening of a healthy lifestyle among adolescents should be created. Adolescence is characterized by certain characteristics and traits, such as emotional lability and mood swings, problems of independence, struggle with authority and internal contradiction. This whole complex of reasons is one of the provocative factors pushing a teenager to experiment with smoking and psychoactive substances. These factors are psychological, social and physiological. Psychological - the need for self-affirmation and recognition by peers, the negative role of advertising (identifying smoking with masculinity, well-being, independence). Social - a negative example of loved ones, relatives and the environment. Physiological - a chemical reaction of a substance, the release of dopamine substances , norepinephrine, adrenaline, serotonin, which lead to activation of the central nervous system, as well as pleasure centers in the brain, help improve mood, increase physical activity and other effects. A natural question arises, how to prevent teenagers from the bad habit of smoking and addictive behavior and what do. In our opinion, the most effective strategy for preventing addictive habits is primary prevention by developing a healthy lifestyle from a very early age. It should be comprehensive and systematic, starting from preschool institutions, as the child’s motivational-need sphere and healthy values develop. Formation of a healthy lifestyle and qualities of a socially successful personality.
