No one loves anyone. Everyone loves what he wants from others. We love those who love in us what we would like to be. The cult of beauty is not only an opportunity to successfully marry a wealthy and powerful man, but also a constant struggle against time, which strives to steal these advantages and leave the owner with her nose. The eternal story of all times and peoples, performed by director Marie Kreuzer in the 2022 movie “Corsage”. A biopic about the people's favorite Empress of Austria, the legendary Princess Sisi. For 20 years she was known as an icon of style and beauty, setting the tone for fashion trends in high society. She was worshiped and idolized. In 1877 she turns 40 years old. And this is the age of the end of life for ordinary women of that time. And for the royals, this is a time of withering under the close supervision of everyone and everything, mercilessly overthrowing their idol. For the complexion, wrinkles appearing, the waist is not as thin as before. Sisi is not going to give up, strict diets, grueling workouts and tricks of all kinds are used - from a corsage, wigs to escape. First from the public, and then from herself. Could a woman, called upon to be the cult of beauty of that time, somehow avoid such a fate? Hardly. She was destined for the role of a symbol of the Austrian throne, which must meet the expectations of the public. And this burden is beyond the capacity of a person of any gender; he is not a constant, but an endlessly changing unit, pulsating and disappearing into oblivion. Legends and traditions remain for posterity. The film “Corsage” presents a fascinating picture, with a meditatively unfolding plot, good acting and an atmosphere of fragility and illusoryness of all things. Starring: Vicky Krieps, Florian Teichtmeister, Katharina Lorenz. The mysterious soundtrack Kamil reflects the character of the main character as best as possible and the merciless steps of time behind her. “I see smiling faces, but they are not for me,” Sisi sums up, making her final choice in a game that cannot be won.
