Most often, a crisis causes a number of negative associations in a person. We are so shy of this vital and inevitable phenomenon. In the Chinese character, crisis has 2 meanings: danger and opportunity. Thus, there is a dual attitude towards the crisis. If a person chooses the first, then he begins to be afraid and freezes in his manifestations, he experiences stupor, hopelessness and powerlessness. The second method allows you to look at the crisis as an opportunity; a person can use this period to his advantage to change and transform his life. This is a more active position that contributes to the harmonious passage of the crisis. Any crisis, be it age-related, creative, family or any other, has only one way out - this is a conscious decision-making. A crisis is a turning point that requires certain choices. If a person does not make a decision, then he remains in crisis. Working with people in such a difficult period of their lives, I spend due time on feelings and experiences, but in the end we come to the question: “What to do next?” Usually the client addresses this question to me, abdicating his responsibility. But as you understand, I am returning this question to the owner of the crisis. The solution is not always afloat and different moves can be explored. A person must be brought to determination and readiness to act. By choosing one thing, perhaps we lose many other things, but by not choosing anything, we lose everything. The course of the crisis is different for everyone, however, in most cases it is associated with a feeling of loss. A person in crisis loses his internal defenses, status, his social role and it seems to him that he is in indefinable difficulty. The crisis becomes a big obstacle that is difficult to overcome. And in this difficult period, the need for freedom seeps in as a necessary condition for further personal development. A person feels a desire to free himself from internal discomfort, wants to find optimal models of behavior and find new meaning. A person in crisis needs to: * Recognize and understand the current reality. It is necessary to assess your own losses and disappointments. This is a new starting point for further actions. You need to understand: what and where I am in my life.* The excessive importance of the crisis itself should be discarded. After all, over-importance works against you. The crisis becomes very powerful, and you are therefore very vulnerable and weak. Regain your confidence that this is a period from which you will be able to cope and grow. Richard Bach reflected this idea in his aphorism: “In every problem there is hidden a priceless gift for you. You create problems for yourself because these gifts are necessary.”* Focus on the desired result. What changes does your heart require? What exactly doesn’t suit you and how to change it? It is necessary to form an internal intention and focus on the final goal. In therapy, this is the client’s request: what exactly does he want to get as a result of our work together?* Write down your plan for overcoming the crisis. You need real action steps. Activate your inner resources, talents and capabilities and find applications for them to solve your personal plan.* Concentrate more on your capabilities and strengths. Support and believe in yourself. This will be fuel for a quick exit.* Learn to relax and fill yourself with positive emotions. Do what gives you joy. Pamper and take care of yourself. Go for a massage, do yoga, turn on your favorite song or choose your favorite activity.* Chat with people, share your experiences. Don't isolate yourself. Sometimes, it is even very useful to be alone when there is a reassessment of values, comprehension of oneself and life, but it is important not to get stuck in total loneliness. After all, a crisis leads to a qualitative restructuring of relationships with oneself and with people. There are people who have lived through similar crisis situations and they can support you in difficult times.* You should determine what resources and assistance you need!
