We can all make mistakes, that's the essence of our human nature. And we call stupid mistakes those that could have been easily foreseen... Despite this, we can repeat them over and over again... And these are most often specific thinking errors, otherwise called cognitive distortions, which in turn lead to an irrational interpretation of one’s own life experience, to incorrect judgments about other people and, of course, incorrect self-esteem. Incorrect interpretation of our own and other people's actions can cause very painful emotions and push us to behavior that can be destructive. We may even be aware of what is going on in our thoughts, but nevertheless we act to the detriment of ourselves... An outburst of emotions can lead to relief – after crying you can feel calm, however, if the reason that leads to tears is not eliminated, then sooner or later you will start crying about it again. It seems obvious that in order to change your life for the better, you just need to act to solve problems, as they say We have many popular psychologists and coaches. But, as a rule, life shows: you can act very correctly and productively, but feel deeply depressed. It seems that you need to find some kind of special life formula, which has its own individual recipe for everyone, which will help you feel adequate to situations and will contribute to the formation constructive behavior... Actually, this is what cognitive behavioral therapy does... During therapy, we do not excavate the past, but rather focus on improving life in the present and future. In order to change your life for the better, your existing potential is enough, all that remains is to take responsibility for your life, which can be very difficult. We all tend to place responsibility for our emotions on other people or circumstances. Yes, indeed, the environment can cause us pain, but it depends only on us how long it will last.
