From the author: What gives us resilience when faced with strong feelings and experiences? Can we withstand them and maintain our integrity while encountering unrequited love? This is a story about finding your way when faced with strong feelings. Sometimes it’s amazing how working with a client takes on a metaphor, and therefore a clearly perceptible meaning, in the last five minutes of the final session. This time it was a metaphor of wings - working with a psychologist for a client was like gaining wings, wings that will help you carry you through moments of crisis or cope with emotionally exciting experiences. Ksenia is a girl who loves a guy (until she really realized it). A guy who does not fit her image of a “prince on a white horse” in all respects, he generally has many traits that contradict this image, and therefore he “cannot” be loved. He takes care of her differently than she is used to, does not show the required number of signs of attention, gives fewer flowers than expected, and after a while he stops paying attention altogether. You can’t love someone like that! And then an exhausting struggle with yourself begins - you have feelings, but you can’t feel them for this person. It turns out that you need to do everything so that feelings do not exist, which means try not to acknowledge them - not to name them, not to notice your behavior caused by feelings, or to define the meaning of behavior in a completely different way, in a conversation with a psychologist, do not give a name to the guy, try to do not describe or describe in negative terms. In general, why talk about it, because the job request was formulated as a search for vital energy. We are looking, thinking about where she goes and how she usually comes, what brings joy from life and what usually fills her. Ksenia’s profession brings joy, helps her feel significant and confident, requires strength, but at the same time replenishes it. We look at previous relationships. There are a lot of good things in them, the memories are pleasant. But suddenly it becomes clear that the previous relationships went on without a break, one smoothly flowed into another. Was there an opportunity to be free and with yourself? What would you do then? What would fill your life? "Dancing, I want to take up dancing!" Dancing appeared. Before this, however, there was still a task to do something with self-care. This task is difficult for many. We are well accustomed and know how to take care of others, but we are almost never ready to take care of ourselves, to do even something small, but meaningful. Ksenia quickly responded to this, began to listen carefully to her condition and do something for herself. There was strength and more joy in life. But in a strange way, thoughts about this guy did not disappear, interest and attention to his life remained, the appearance of a possible girl in his life was jealously noticed. The question arises again - what is this? "How do I feel about him?" - Ksenia continues to search by touch. It is not soon and not at all easy that the recognition of one’s love for him comes, along with this desire for the sharing of these feelings, for reciprocity. Memories of past meetings come to life and the understanding that Ksenia did everything to prevent this relationship from developing further. Dead end. Is it possible to return something? How to deal with feelings for him? Confess or remain silent? Is it painful or joyful from everything that is happening? What to do with your feelings if you can no longer return him? How to deal with all this? Time comes to the rescue - time that sometimes turns out to be lost, but necessary to accept what is happening, to see the world and events in their entirety, to allow yourself to stop and look from the outside, sometimes to cry or be happy...Gradually the recognition of the feeling of love came , love that can be born even for someone who does not fit into the idea of a prince. There has come an acceptance that a feeling may not be shared by another, that it may remain unrequited, but still exist and sometimes even make you happy. Ksenia began her search for how then this feeling could exist? In what form? If you don’t drive him away, then how?
