The question that I put in the title, I think, was of interest to that psychologist who has (or is ready to write) five to seven articles on the topic of his specialization . Indeed, why not use existing material to attract additional clients? As a rule, psychologists shrug their shoulders when I ask them this question. It seems more common to write articles and publish them in open sources: on article services, in social communities, on your blogs, on specialized services like the one we are on now. All this is good and all this is correct! But all these services have static in nature, that is, they are located at a specific address, and readers have to look for them. Another way to effectively disseminate information is an electronic book. With an e-book, everything is different: it is mobile. It can be posted on a large number of services and distributed to a large number of people. These people, in turn, provided that they liked the book, will pass it on to their friends, who will pass it on to their own. And so on. I think there is no need to talk about the speed of distribution of a book with interesting and useful content for the reader. When I first learned about the possibilities of an e-book, I was not particularly enthusiastic about the information. I had a lot of articles, I had a website, my own newsletter. For what? But since I am a curious person, I still decided to test the capabilities of the e-book. First, I read everything I found in the public domain: articles by foreign and Russian authors, free e-books and presentation videos on this topic. Then I started buying paid information products. And the more I delved into the subject of study, the less doubt I had that this information channel would not work. And considering that by first education I am a philologist and, as they say, I write competently, I dared to experiment - I decided to create an e-book! It took several days to write the text. This part of preparing the e-book was the easiest. Difficulties arose at the next, technical stage: the written material had to be packaged correctly. I had to deal with this. This stage took several days. When I finished designing the book, I was as happy as a child. And why not be happy - I was the author of my book! However, my joy disappeared when I decided to show my creation to the world... The world demanded a cover! And I sat down at the computer again. Another week passed. The cover appeared. But... if the file with the contents of the book could be easily uploaded to a file hosting service, then a separate page was required for the cover. You guessed it - I went to the computer. A few more days passed. And here it is - a happy moment: everything worked out! You probably, after reading these lines, thought, is this a normal author who offers to share with him the hardships and hardships of creating an e-book?.. No, no, dear colleagues, I am normal! Why would I tell you about my thorny path? Certainly not for you to laugh at me. I just told you what an author might encounter if he decides to create an e-book himself from start to finish. In the process of preparing an e-book, I gained good experience on how not to make an e-book. Now I know about it. And proof of this is the creation of the second e-book, which I helped my colleague prepare. He released it in less than a week. And it turned out much better than mine.
