This article is intended for those parents whose nerves are already on edge, and the question of how to overcome a nervous breakdown in their beloved child is very acute, because school is coming soon, and teachers are not educators...I propose to understand all this using a common example. Here is one of the many letters that came with a request for help: Natalya, Moscow. My son is 6 years old. He has constant hysterics and a bad mood. He can easily shout in a store, demanding a toy. And he won't stop until he gets his way. Falls, hits the floor, and so on. Meanwhile, my husband and I live very peacefully, we don’t fight, but our child constantly gives us such concerts. What to do? Is it going to school soon? Maybe it's time to give the child pills? This letter is a typical picture. Situations where mom and dad are well-mannered, kind and quiet people, but their children are prone to bright and loud emotional outbursts (including in public), are far from uncommon in our time. There may be several reasons for this behavior. If we immediately exclude severe family conflicts, parental alcoholism, divorce and extreme family poverty, when children have nothing to eat and nothing to play with, most often the options turn out to be as follows. FIRST. Specificity of heredity. A person’s heredity is quite often passed on to a child not directly from mom and dad, but rather from one of his or her grandparents or aunts. Accordingly, in the case of a child’s scandalous behavior, one should always analyze the circle of relatives - are there any obvious emotional people among them, people prone to uncontrollable outbursts and breakdowns, or depression, who have dangerous character traits (alcohol, drugs, gambling addiction, suicide). If everything is positive on this side, we move on.SECOND. Difficulties in kindergarten. Most often there are two of them. Or the child is the youngest in the group, he is oppressed there, he cannot fight back. And then the spring of character, which cannot be unclenched in kindergarten, is unclenched when communicating with parents. A child makes a scandal where he can afford it, without fear of being hit or offended in any way. Or an option when in a kindergarten group there is an obviously problematic child who throws tantrums in the group, but for some reason cannot be re-educated or removed (influential parents or a single mother). If such a group member screams, screams, hits his head on the floor, doesn’t listen to anyone, he gets away with it, the teachers are afraid of him and fulfill his demands, this serves as a bad example for those around him. And since this example of behavior in fact turns out to be successful, it is not surprising that other children begin to imitate this behavior and reproduce it with their parents. THIRD. An extreme form of childish spoiling. This often happens when the child is either alone in the family, or the parents started it late, when they were already old. And also if the parents are very busy, the child spends a lot of time with his grandparents, who dote on him and blow away specks of dust. In this case, the child quickly gets used to receiving everything from everyone and the slightest disobedience of others immediately provokes him into a scandal. And if after a scandal everything is immediately given to him, this stereotype of successful behavior is again fixed at the level of a conditioned reflex, like Pavlov’s famous dog. FOURTH. Clear lack of parental attention. It also happens that parents behave formally with the child: they feed and water well, buy high-quality clothes and toys, but... communicate with the child as a person very, very little. He watches cartoons, plays with toys, but ultimately does not develop the necessary communication skills, including self-restraint skills, skills of taking into account other people's opinions, skills of patient waiting, etc. And there is still not enough attention!!! FIFTH. Lack of activity on the streets. It has long been known that the best remedy for hysterics and depression (which are two sides of the same coin) is sun and fresh air. It is in sunlight that it is more active):+7 902 990 5168, +7 913 520 1001, +7 926 633 5200.
