Stupefaction appears, which does not end. Life should be like this, but it became like this. We are ready for that life, but not for this one. The phenomenal adaptability of the psyche can help here. You can start through grounding.1. Grounding always works against chaos. The small works against the big. The known works against the unknown. Grounding is the ground under your feet, both literally and figuratively. It is also familiar, which means it is safe. I can cook porridge, but I can no longer plan a vacation. I don’t know when I’ll see my friend, but for now I can plant flowers on the windowsill. Yes, this is only a part of me. But this is what saves us from uncertainty, from powerlessness, from incompleteness. These are the small processes in which I have my influence. This is what I can do, against the background of what I can no longer do.2. Rituals. One of the types of grounding. Where, you can tell yourself - I’m still here and my life is still here too. And this is what was in a past, lived-in life, can be dragged into a new, uninhabited one. The preservation of rituals stretches a thread from the whole to the broken. 3. Completeness. When large processes are launched that have no end and edge, and our plans depend on their completion, and our influence on them is minimal, it is important to do two things: 1. Keep the goal. The success and safety of driving a car depends on where the driver is looking. Keep your eyes on the goal. “I will still work because I know how I want to feel in my work.” “I will still do what conceived, sooner or later.” This is the ability to postpone until the right moment, enduring not knowing whether this moment will come.2. Introduce completed processes into your life with visible results, especially in a state of acute uncertainty. That’s why women knit and bake when stressed. The main understanding that should be now is that the planning horizon has narrowed and the attempt to calculate something and plan ahead is accompanied by fear and despair. And most importantly, continue to move towards what is really important to you, but maintaining contact with this very here and now. Because you have here and now and nowhere else.
