Many people are embarrassed to seek help from a psychologist, citing the fact that a strong personality must cope with their problems on their own. This, of course, is a deep misconception. When we have a toothache, we turn to the dentist for help. Hardly anyone treats heart disease on their own, preferring to consult a specialist. But the human psyche is much more complex than any individual organ of our body, and self-medication here is fraught with harmful consequences. Few people know that our consciousness is not the whole psyche, and not even a large part of it. There is also a huge unconscious layer of the psyche, in which the roots of many human problems are often located. These are suppressed emotions, unreacted feelings, fears, complexes, primary mental traumas, addictions, depression, aggressive impulses, etc. And many of them come out in the form of various psychosomatic diseases: bronchial asthma, hypertension, gastrointestinal diseases, ulcerative colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, neurodermatitis, heart attack, diabetes, various kinds of sexual disorders, goiter, cancer. In other words, the soul hurts, but the body suffers. And many of our problems are simply projected onto the people around us, leading to conflicts, breakups and wars. And a person cannot cope with mental suffering on his own with the help of consciousness alone. Because here you need a specialist, as in any other field, and of the highest qualifications. There are no people who do not face difficult life situations. And therefore, everyone needs psychological help and support, and it is better not to wait until this or that problem becomes insurmountable, and mental pain begins to transform into a somatic illness. The culture of mental hygiene is not yet very widespread in our city, although the Western world has long realized its importance regular psychological assistance. We take a shower every day to cleanse our body of dirt. But few people think about how much dirt settles in our psyche. Negative media information streams into our subconscious, swearing, gossip, deception, insults... So, every day. And now our mind is ready to explode from any poorly spoken word, from any careless movement... Keep your psyche clean!
