Intervention is any action of the constellation therapist, a conscious or unconscious influence on the constellation process of any of its participants, aimed at achieving the goals of the constellation session. And the therapist does a lot to achieve the goals of the constellation session. His wise and calm presence alone disciplines and calms all participants (this is the unconscious influence or “field work”). At the preliminary stage, the arranger creates a safe space for the arrangement. The room should be quite comfortable and spacious. Sound insulation must be present, and odors must be absent. The client must be instructed about what will happen and how, what his role in the process is and what the role of everyone present is. Instruction must also be carried out for the group: if you came to help, help the process, the client and me, and do not interfere. Without these preliminary steps, you may encounter a huge amount of annoying interference that can reduce the effectiveness of the arrangement. At the stage of a preliminary conversation with the client regarding his request, all the actions of the arranger are aimed at performing two main tasks: 1) establishing trusting contact with the client and 2) obtaining important information about the client’s problem situation. The main way to create trusting contact is not the correct postures, gestures, intonations or eye contact (although these are also very important), but the hospitable and friendly position of the therapist: “Dear client, I am always for you!” If the client believed the therapist and trusted the group, then he will share important information about the situation, and most importantly, open the “knowing field” of the family system for the therapist and the group. At the diagnostic stage, the therapist also does a lot. Agrees with the client on the most effective analysis scheme for this particular case, on the number of figures in the field, carefully monitors the state, relative position and interaction of the figures, offers test phrases, introduces test figures and performs test actions in order to identify negatively influencing factors (system dynamics), to confirm or refute preliminary hypotheses. At this stage, the arranger’s tools include substantive attention, non-judgment (neutrality), curiosity and interest, and a sincere desire to help the client get to the bottom of the truth. When it becomes clear that one or another hypothesis has been confirmed, the therapist moves on to the next stage. At the transformation stage, the therapist offers effective solutions to harmonize the situation. At this stage, the therapist can use any of the methods known to him and appropriate for the client to change the situation for the better. It can help the client process strong emotions. He can arrange a confrontation between the client and the truth that was revealed in the constellation and much more. The actual constellation tools for change are permissive phrases and constellation rituals (bodily-figurative reinforcement). It is important to give the resolving phrases the features of Ericksonian hypnosis: short complete phrases, calm rhythmic intonations, eye contact between figures, short distances, pauses... When using constellation rituals, the creativity of the arranger is not limited by anything other than his fantasy and imagination. By the way, the arranger is also able to complete the arrangement on time must master it perfectly. Often trying to improve an already good result only spoils it. Less is more. Best the enemy of the good. At the final stage, the therapist also does not sit idle. He has a lot of work to do. We need to make sure that all deputies are out of role, and that all observers are okay, and provide assistance to them if necessary. It is necessary to discuss the results of the arrangement with the client at the level of common sense, emphasize important nuances and accents, draw important conclusions for the future, support the client in his efforts to improve his life, give the client appropriate homework to consolidate what has been achieved.
