From the author: The fairy tale and the doll were born in a home workshop. They can be considered an intermediate result of applied ecopsychology and fairy tale therapy. One day, the Fairy of Forgotten Toys, as usual, flew around the newly vacated apartments. Their tenants rented a new apartment or bought their own, or a grandparent died there. There were different stories with these apartments. The main thing is that they were empty, and people always forgot a lot of unnecessary things in them. At least that's what they thought. But the Fairy did not think so, and she was looking for forgotten toys, especially dolls and animals, former friends of girls and boys. At first they were loved very much, fed, wrapped in blankets and put to bed, sometimes their little owners took them to bed with them. As time passed, boys and girls were given new toys, beautiful and modern. They stopped playing with the old doll, it lay in the toy box for some time, then the mother, once again putting things in order in the nursery, with a sigh, put the old doll aside and put it away along with other old things on the mezzanine. This is the case if the mother was not very decisive and did not dare to immediately flush all this junk into the garbage chute. Otherwise, the house is cluttered, and it is harmful for the child to breathe the dust. Today the Fairy arrived at a tiny one-room apartment, from which a young man of about twenty-four, very handsome, cheerful, and a little noisy, had just left. However, the neighbors did not complain. The fairy knew that sometimes his niece Sonya, a girl of about nine, came to visit him; once she brought with her a doll, which she called Mila. But she didn’t take it back. She told her uncle: “Sing, Mila is already old, let her live with you.” I already have a Bratz doll. And she told me to let Mila stay as a guest. Petya grinned at his niece’s cunning and did not object. If he lives, he will live like that. And he put the undressed and disheveled Mila in the depths of the half-empty mezzanine. And when he packed his things before moving to a new apartment, he left all the old unnecessary things in the old one. The new residents will figure out for themselves what to keep and what to throw away. The Mila doll remained in the mezzanine, next to it some piece of paper, once brightly painted with felt-tip pens, was gathering dust. And so the Fairy of Forgotten Toys, taking off, touched the mezzanine door, and it opened, creaking with age. Everything in this apartment was very old. The fairy took the doll and a bright piece of paper, sat down in a chair and began to look at the finds. The doll was the kind they made about fifty years ago, with a pretty plastic face and big blue eyes that closed when the doll lay down. On the head there were remnants of yellow hair in some places, the rag body was dirty and weak. Yes, Mila, it wasn’t easy for you, the Fairy thought. Then she examined the piece of paper. It immediately became clear that the girl Sonya was drawing, and was drawing as a gift to her uncle Petya. It was congratulations on February 23rd. Sonya carefully drew tanks, machine guns and fireworks, and wrote in large multi-colored letters: “Dear Petya! Happy holiday to you. Sonya, who loves you." So she wrote “loving,” but Petya, of course, understood what she meant. Now the Fairy sympathized not only with the doll Mila, but also with her owner, whose such a beautiful and full of love congratulation was also retired as unnecessary. However, she had become accustomed over many years of her life that people do not attach much importance to the things they left behind. She thought for a while, then said out loud: “Oh!” and raised her index finger. She figured out how to arrange Mila’s life further. The fairy flew out of the apartment and, hearing steps from apartment number 63, first put a congratulation on the windowsill, and Mila on it. The steps approached, and the Fairy squeezed into a clot of shadow near the garbage chute, becoming completely invisible. When the woman passed by the window sill, the Fairy began to quietly whisper to her: “What a nice doll, you had the same one, remember?” The woman thought that these were her own thoughts and stopped near the doll and took it in her arms. The doll turned out to be true.
