Hello, dear person! Once upon a time I was in your place - I was looking for a psychologist as well. This happened in my 3rd year (I went to college to study as a psychologist to get more opportunities in my work). The profession of a psychologist seemed more interesting to me, more creative than mine, and then I read in one textbook that psychologists who themselves were clients turn out to be more understanding, more sensitive to their own clients (than those who did not have such experience). At that time there were few psychologists, there was no Internet, information about them was only from the OBS (one woman said)). In addition, I wanted to help people at the deepest level (even to the point of changing temperament), and only psychoanalysts could do this, so I needed a psychologist from a certain psychotherapeutic school. And in one of the private clinics I found a psychologist dealing with psychodynamics (the heiress of psychoanalysis, its modern form). Then she admitted to me that the first five sessions in the office there was such tension that even if you hang an ax, I withstood such tension - after all, I set Our goal is to withstand whatever it takes! And for a whole year I went first once, and then twice a week. After about three months, I realized that I needed therapy not only for my future clients - but whether I will still do this is unknown? Therapy began to give me the opportunity to live better every day. Although at that time everything was fine with me (wife, daughter, I worked as the head of a developing construction organization and owned half of it). But in therapy, I began to understand myself more (although before that I was sure that I knew myself very well) and it became easier for me to understand other people, understand them faster, and find a common language faster, even if at the same time I had to defend my interests and views. It was then that I decided to go twice a week - in order to get more from therapy (and I planned to go for a whole year). I remember how angry I was with the psychologist when I had to wait beyond the appointed time - after all, I couldn’t count every minute - the enterprise was working, people had to complete tasks in order to receive a salary... As a result of therapy, I dealt with many ambiguities and misunderstandings, incl. - decided to become only a psychologist - without additional business. Because I realized that during sessions you can’t think about two things at the same time, you need to think either about clients, solutions to their problems, or about your own business. Now, business and management experience helps me a lot in working with my clients’ problems related to work and earnings ( and for subordinates - how to build relationships with superiors, and for managers - how to interact with subordinates). Knowing the laws of electricity also helps, since our nervous system and brain are essentially also an electrical system (like a computer). In general - given everything that happened to me in therapy, I made a rule for myself - not to subject my own clients to negative experiences, especially - delays (there will be enough of them without this, as happens in the therapy of any person). I think a lot about how to help each person who applies - at the first and every subsequent consultation (as well as to those who come straight to therapy) and I extremely respect the person who has decided on such a process - because it requires real courage! Now I understand that real courage lies not in waving your fists, but in admitting to the problem and expressing your desire to get help from a specialist in solving such problems. Each person has the opportunity to independently solve their own emerging problems, but when it doesn’t work out on their own or when a person solves the problem, he gets the wrong result that helps him, then he can again make new attempts and waste time or turn to professional specialists for these issues. After all, everyone should mind their own business - you work and...
