No one will argue that learning is necessary. Especially nowadays, researchers say that the amount of knowledge in every single field doubles every 5 years (!!!). And it so happened that for me, books are my favorite way of learning. I read a lot of them, since the beginning of 2014 I already have 93 books (yes, I keep track of them :). Therefore, today we’ll talk about how to read books with the greatest efficiency in order to get results, not empty knowledge. Personally, I follow three simple rules that I want to share: 1. All ideas aside! All ideas that come to me while reading books, I write down in a separate file in Evernote (I recommend). I take a lot from books, stories, cases, thoughts, quotes, and they all go into different files and notes, from where I can pull them out without any problems. But ideas that I can apply (I can and want, different things by the way), I write out separately. 2. DeadlineAfter I've read a book (sometimes while I'm reading it), I give each idea a deadline for when it needs to be completed. This way I have a date for execution of each idea. 3. Fear Then the fun begins, when the line for submitting an idea for work arrives, I simply delete it from the file, over time it is erased from memory. Thus, if I don't implement the idea by this date, then I will lose it forever. This causes fear :) And now, my execution of ideas is at the level of 8/10 (yes, I’m trying to improve to 9/10). Why is this method good? He doesn’t fill his brain with all kinds of knowledge, but with real cases and practical experience. Learning through experience is many times more interesting and instructive than any knowledge (that’s why I don’t like our education system). When I implement an idea, I send the description to a separate file " Cases", and there, it is much more useful than in my head in the form of ordinary knowledge.
