This spring is full of anxiety. Plans fall apart, uncertainty grows. This is it, a great time to live here and now. But in reality it is not so simple. That’s why, until recently, store shelves were rapidly emptying: a person needs at least the illusion of control to cope with the unknown. Anxiety always hides some feeling, or maybe several at once. Recognized feelings provide clarity, and this is already a small support. And for those who have been overcome by a wave of panic in such a way that it interferes with reflection, I have a couple of tips.⠀☝🏻 Breathe. I'm serious. When experiences take over, breathing becomes shallow, difficult, and freezes. The amount of oxygen supplied is reduced, which can cause physical weakness. Needless to say, in the context of a declared pandemic, people tend to perceive any ailment as a symptom?⠀☝🏻Filter. Information coming from everywhere. And there is more of it than we are able to absorb, and besides, this information is often contradictory. Choose a news channel you trust and follow the information there.⠀☝🏻Don’t panic. We will live. We are still living, life goes on. You yourself know the precautions: wash your hands, strengthen your immune system.⠀☝🏻Remain mindful. In moments of high anxiety, there is a possibility of returning to the usual destructive patterns of behavior in order to relieve tension: food, alcohol, compulsive shopping, risky behavior, etc. Be attentive to yourself, try to find alternative ways to relax: yoga, meditation, relaxation, hot bath, etc.⠀☝🏻Don’t neglect psychotherapy. There is too much anxiety and uncertainty in the background to refuse support. And thanks to modern technologies, work with a therapist can be transferred online.⠀☝🏻 Don't be alone. Now almost the entire country is on self-isolation and everyone is sitting behind closed doors. Borders are also closed, and this creates an even greater feeling of isolation and loneliness. Keep in touch with your loved ones, anxiety becomes less when there is support.⠀Be calm and stable!
